U. S. HISTORY 8 – Mrs. Brandt1. Supplies: In this class you will need the following supplies:
•college-ruled spiral, at least 150 pages •map pencils• white standard-ruled (wide rule) notebook paper •scissors•pocket folder with brads •gluesticks
•blue or black pens •highlighters
•pencils •3” x 5” index cards
All supplies are due by Monday. You are responsible for bringing supplies to class every day and for promptly replacing any supplies that are used up during the year. Should you have problems obtaining these supplies by Monday, please bring a parent/guardian note.
2. Assignments: Assignments and due dates are to be recorded daily in your Cub Planner. Assignments are posted at http://classroom.kleinisd.net/webs/ljbrandt1 for one week. You will be assigned a textbook to keep at home for the year. We will use a class copy at school.

Syllabus 8th Grade U.S. History Syllabus Eighth grade U.S. history is a study of the United States
through 1877. The course focuses on colonization, the American Revolution, the formation and structure of U.S. government, the New Republic, Manifest Destiny and an expanding nation, the Civil War, and Reconstruction.
Colonization The lessons in this unit are organized to help students
understand the effects of geography on the development of colonial America. The main skill focus is making generalizations. Students analyze the reasons for exploration and the importance of political, economic, and social factors upon the formation of the thirteen colonies..
