What?

My interactive student folder is a place where all of your work will be kept.

It will be my own personal textbook.

It is a way for me to collect and process the information learned in class.

The abbreviation Mrs. Menten/Mr. Green will use for the interactive student folder is ISF.

Why?

Choice: Allows me to take ownership of my learning in unique and creative ways.

Develops my reading and note-taking skills.

Helps me with organization.

It will teach me meaningful approaches to learning that I can use in all subject areas.

Learning and Reflecting

Each lesson will have a left side and a right side activity.

Learning activities are guided by the teacher. Some examples of learning activities are notes, graphic organizers, handouts, and maps.

Reflecting side is created by me. It gives me the opportunity to work with what I have learned and to show what I know. Some examples of reflecting activities are wanted posters, magazine covers, and comics.

The possibilities are endless.

Tips

Bring ISF to class everyday.

Each page should be numbered and labeled with your name.

Use pencil for notes and sketches.

Use color to help point out important information in my notes.

My ISF should not have:

Markers

Papers from other classes

Doodling

When I am absent, I should check the make-up work box for assignments. I am responsible for my work. I should make it meaningful to me.
