A graduate of Escola Superior de Dança, António Cabrita also
holds a diploma from Escola de Dança do Conservatório Na-
cional and studied Dance at Joffrey Ballet School, New York.
In tandem with is Dance training, he studied Film at the New
York Film Academy (2001) and frequented a course on Crea-
tive Advertising at Restart, Lisbon. He has built his artistic
career as a dance performer, choreographer, video designer
and sound designer.
As a performer he worked with choreographers such as Rui
Horta, Né Barros, Silke Z., António Tavares, Tânia Carvalho,
Ana Rita Barata, Pedro Ramos, Felix Lozano, Paulo Ribeiro
and Luís Marrafa, among others. Between 2007 and 2015,
he was artist-in-residence at the German company SilkeZ./
Resistdance.
António Cabrita began his choreographer career, in 2009,
with the creation of the project “To Fail” and he also choreo-
graphed the piece “88” for Quorum Ballet in 2011.
Between 2011 and 2016, he developed, in collaboration
with choreographer and performer São Castro, the project
|acsc|. In 2015 he was distinguished with the Prémio Auto-
res awarded by SPA (Portuguese Society of Authors), in the
category Best Choreography for “Play False”, a co-creation
with São Castro. In 2016, he was distinguished by Instituto
Politécnico de Lisboa with their Medalha de Prata de Valor
e Distinção. Within the ambit of his collaboration with São
Castro he co-created, in 2017, invited by Luísa Taveira, “Dido
e Eneias” for the CNB.
António Cabrita is currently, along with São Castro, the artis-
tic director of CPR Viseu.

She was born in Lisbon, city where she develops most of her
artistic and pedagogical work.
She studied Law, Dance and, more recently, Gestalt Thera-
py in a search to understand and facilitate the dialogue be-
tween body and mind.
As a performer, she highlights her collaboration with Com-
panhia Olga Roriz, since 2003.
A teacher of improvisation and performance, she also crea-
tes movement for theatre productions and has some choreo-
graphic adventures under her belt.
Presently, she serves as coordinator for project “Corpo em
Cadeia” supported by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian throu-
gh their PARTIS (Artistic Practises for Social Inclusion) pro-
gramme.

Clara Andermatt was born in Lisbon in 1963. She studied
dance with Luna Andermatt and graduated from London
Studio Centre and the Royal Academy of Dancing.
Between 1984-88 she was a part of Companhia de Dança
de Lisboa (directed by Rui Horta), and between 1989-91
she integrated Companhia Metros, in Barcelona (directed by
Ramón Oller).
In her own Company (founded in 1991), she creates and pro-
duces numerous works, distinguished with various awards
and regularly staged in Portugal and abroad.
She is frequently called upon to teach classes and workshops
and regularly invited to create for other companies.
Her career is tempered by travel, by meeting with different
cultures and artistic idioms, especially in those border areas
between formats and styles, between the trained and un-
trained body and the desire of reaching one another, sear-
ching for a means to feel and understand the uniqueness of
each individual.

Cristina Planas Leitão has a Dance Performance degree from
ArtEZ – Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem (NL), comple-
ted in 2006. As a performer she collaborated with Gabriella
Maiorino/Dansmakers Amsterdam, Isabelle Schad, Flávio
Rodrigues/BCN, Vloeistof, Catarina Miranda and Marco da
Silva Ferreira. As a rehearsal director, she worked with Ho-
fesh Shechter (2012-2014) and Gregory Maqoma (2015)
for Companhia Instável. In 2015, she was one of the guest
artists of The Porto Sessions – a project developed by Meg
Stuart/ Damaged Goods and Mezzannine.
Since 2016, she serves as the coordinator of “Aquecimento
Paralelo” for Teatro Municipal do Porto and, in 2017, in that
very same Theatre, she integrated the audience mediation
team of “Festival DDD”, assuming the festival’s executive
coordination in September of 2018.
In 2010, she was one of the 50 artists chosen by David Zam-
brano for his 50 days of Flying Low and Passing Through in
Costa Rica, and she is part of the only group certified to tea-
ch and develop his techniques.
As a choreographer, she highlights her collaboration with
Jasmina Krizaj that resulted in the creation of “The very de-
licious piece” (2012) and “The Very Boring Piece” (2014),
followed by various other works presented both nationally
and abroad.
In 2015 she became the artistic director for Bactéria Asso-
ciação Cultural.

Portuguese performer Diogo Sousa studied at Escola de
Dança do Conservatório Nacional, Lisbon, and Ballet Junior
de Genève. He entered the Hofesh Shechter Company as a
trainee in 2013, and attained the position of resident per-
former in 2014. Throughout his career as a performer for
the Hofesh Shechter Company he integrated the casts for
“Political Mother: The Choreographer’s Cut”; “Sun”; “Orphée
et Eurydice” (a Royal Opera House production); “Barbarians”
and “Grand Finale”.

Rui Reis began his dance studies in the Portuguese National
Ballet Company with João Miranda, Anatolie Grigoriev and
Luisa Carles. Finished the academic training in Cannes in the
International Dance Center Rosella Hightower with José Fer-
ran and Catherine Verneuil.
Joined Ballet Gulbenkian as an apprentice and finished his
journey in this company as lead dancer. Worked with Olga
Roriz, Vasco Wellenkamp, Rui Horta, Benvindo Fonseca, Rui
Pinto, Gagik Ismailian, Nacho Duato, Itzic Galili, Ohad Naha-
rin, Jiří Kylián, Hans Van Manen, Mats Ek, Wylliam Forsythe,
among many others.
Worked with ballet masters Jorge Garcia, Alphonse Poulin,
Irena Milovan, Ivan Kramer, Yuri Chatal, Jorge Salavisa and
was a dancer in Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, where had the
opportunity to dance plays created by choreographers such
as Balanchine, Bournonvile, Massine, John Neumeier, among
others.
Was a dancer in many classic repertoire productions of Les
Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the English National Ballet.
In 2008, was invited by the director/choreographer Goyo
Montero to be ballet master of the Nuremberg Ballet, Ger-
many, where he remained untill 2011.
Has been working as an invited ballet teacher for dance
companies in Portugal and abroad, such as Academia de
Dança Contemporânea de Setúbal, Quorum Ballet, Olga
Roriz, Staatstheater Nuremberg, Dolon Dance Company and
Croatian National Theatre Zagreb.

Born in Prague, Czech Republic, Jiří Pokorný started his Dan-
ce training, with eight years old, at the Baletní přípravka of
the Národního divadla in Prague, and then continued his stu-
dies at the Pražská konzervatoř.
After graduating, he entered Lanterna magika, in Prague,
and after three years he joined NDT2, continuing his career
at NDT1. As a performer he collaborated with various renow-
ned choreographers, such as, Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Ohad Naha-
rin, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Crystal Pite, among others.
After his stint at Netherlands Dans Theater (NDT), he was a
performer at Kidd Pivot company, under the artistic direc-
tion of Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite.
As a choreographer, Jiří Pokorný started creating his own
works at Switch - From Dancer to Choreographer, a cho-
reographic platform that allowed NDT performers to show-
case some of their own creations, and from that moment
onwards he was invited to choreograph for companies such
as Netherlands Dans Theater 2, North West Dance Project
(Portland, Oregon), Aterballetto, Nationaltheater Mannheim,
Budapest Dance Theatre, Prague Chamber Ballet and Korzo
Productions.
He has developed a relevant body of work in educational
projects, through numerous collaborations with dance
schools, such as the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, the
Juilliard School New York and NDT’s Summer Intensive. Jiří
Pokorný also heads a programme for Young Choreographers,
called The Pioneer Project at Korzo Theatre, in The Hague.

São Castro started her dance education at Balleteatro Escola
Profissional de Dança e de Teatro do Porto (1995-1998). In
2002 she concluded her degree in Dance at Escola Superior
de Dança, Instituto Politécnico, Lisbon.
Her career as a performer started at Balleteatro, between
1997 and 1999. Afterwards she collaborated with other
companies: Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contem-
porâneo (between 2001 and 2004), Ballet Gulbenkian
(2004/2005) and also Companhia Instável (2012). As a per-
former she worked with choreographers such as Né Barros,
Isabel Barros, Rui Lopes Graça, Benvindo Fonseca, Sofia Sil-
va, Vasco Wellenkamp, Paulo Ribeiro, Hofesh Shechter, Olga
Roriz, Clara Andermatt, André Mesquita, Tânia Carvalho and
Luís Marrafa, among others.
In 2009 she gave her first steps as a choreographer and, in
the following years, she choreographed for Companhia de
Dança do Algarve, for Escola de Dança do Conservatório Na-
cional, for Projecto Quorum (2015) and also for Companhia
de Dança de Almada (2016).
Between 2011 and 2016 she developed – in collaboration
with choreographer and performer António Cabrita – project
| acsc |. In 2015 she received the Prémio Autores awarded
