PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia as tire factory and golf ball manufacturer was

determined to create, preserving and protect the environment that clean

and healthfull with the way control as well as prevention efforts of

environmental impact steadly.

To embody the determination of the above, the company set

environmental policy as follows :

1. To obey all regulation, government regulation and fulfillment environment rules standard as which have listed in the PROPER (Performance of company’s ratings in managing the environmental).

2. To determined goals and objectives of the field environmental examines periodically.

3. To increase awareness about the activity of understanding and

friendly environment in accordance with the guideline ISO 14001 to all employees, contractors and suppliers.

4. To reduce or change the resources and energy to minimize the impact of the environment as the adaptability on climate change as well as the protection of biodiversity and ecosystem.

5. To improve continuous the Environment Management System to be better performance.

As a manifestation of our commitment to come keep environmental conditions in order to remain

good, we have implementation the Environmental Management System (EMS) and we have to obtain the certificate ISO 14001 since 2003 version 2004 and at October 2016, we already obtained ISO 14001 version 2015.

Perfect Zero Emission is activity by involving all employees to prevent waste of company to pollute the environmental surrounding. Perfect Zero Emission means that all effect to control and monitor waste, not to land field and has achieved excellently until index is zero and we

already achieved Perfect Zero Emission since August 2008.

Objectives of monitoring and measuring activities are as follow : 1. Provide friendly environmental condition for employees based on

the existing regulation from government. 2. Anticipate and prevent any kind of condition which potentially may

give bad impact to employees. 3. Always fulfill the requirement of environmental regulation or

condition that apply from government and always up to date it with the newest regulation. Monitoring and measuring aspect are as follow : 1. Emission of plant chimney 2. Measuring of noise level 3. VI.6. Naphtha Reduction

In tire manufacturing process , we use naphtha (organic solvent), for solution process and cleaning tire, but also we continue to reduce naphtha consumption, based on SRI target reduce 3% compare to last year. In additional, we also use the material water base to reduce use of

naphtha or dangerous material and easy burning.

In tire manufacturing process, we use industrial water for primary process and curing tire, but also we have several activities to reduce water consumption, target from SRI is reduce 3% compare to last year.One of the way to reduce water use by utilizing the rain water.

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia ensure complying the rule of the environmental regulation by carried out the audit from Lloyds International Register every year. the result of audit until now, PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia always comply the regulation.

We take planting trees in opened area and make the garden on the empty area more beautiful. So, make employees to be confortable,

our employees will be supportable.

In 2016, we conduct training ISO 14001 version 2015 as preparation to take certification on October, and we got certification is this year. In addition, we do socialization to all employees also to understand and follow the Environmental Management System.

We have already done blood donor since 2008, in the beginning start, and do every 3 months, but from 2010 we conducted every

month and involved contractors participant. From the hundreds of the company’s in Karawang region,

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia is one of the biggest blood donation, so

we got appreciation from Red Cross Organization.

Mangrove Plantation

This year we still do planting 1,000 mangrove trees and join together with other companies at the Maron Coast of Central Java.


Purpose : To help reduce abrasive at beach scrape the mainland.

We have already done routine activity ( Mangrove plantation ) every year since 2009.

from Environment Minister of Indonesia (PROPER) with BLUE Level.

PROPER is Business Performance Rating Program which is incentived and

disincentived reputational instrument and designed for continual improvement of Companies compliance performance through mandatory.

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia successful to got

ISO 14001-2015 (New version) Certification from Lloyds register on October 2016 . This certification indicated that PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia had excellent commitment to maintain good environmental management

achievement.

PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia got the award

from the government on October 2016 for the participation actively as 4 major companies are concerned with blood donor to the Red Cross Organization.
