St. Mary’s Wikispace – place to curate and share information and ideas
Outline expectations of project and acceptable use of devices:
A project overview
iPad Permissions - a list of the approved apps for the assignment (this is critical)
iPad # for the project - this holds students accountable for their device
Remind students not to touch settings
Lastly, be a good citizen and return devices with apps closed out, screens facing left and power ports facing out.
Some Ideas:
Skype: Skype Project Examples:
Primary Source Workshop –Search for CA gold
NASA Digital Learning – Toys in Space
Author talks
Collaborate with other classes, no matter where they are
Find guest speakers and invite them into your classroom
Take a virtual field trip anywhere in the world
Webquest: requires higher level thinking,
not simply summarizing. This includes synthesis, analysis, problem-solving, creativity and judgment
makes good use of the web.
isn't a research report or a step-by-step science or math procedure.
isn't just a series of web-based experiences. Having learners go look at this page, then go play this game, then go here and turn your name into hieroglyphs doesn't require higher level thinking skills and so, by definition, isn't a WebQuest.
Examples:
• Gimme Shelter – Homeless in America
• Dinosaurs Before Dark
• Constitutional Convention
• Perimeter Fun
