• First semester nursing related course• 2 credits (once a week for two hours) • Ten broadly written course learning objectives• Focus:
* Drug dosage calculations of oral and IV medications* 15 Drug Classifications with specific medications* Contemporary issues (Cultural & Herbal issues, etc.)* Nutrition & electrolytes & nutritional support* Medication administration – Nursing Process* Special dosing considerations (patient populations)
• Challenge – Teaching a large amount of content in 14 weeks including testing (quizzes and exams)
