This course will share the most recent research in positive psychology including mindset
(attribution theory), hope, grit and character strengths combined with understandings in the field
of brain research into the teaching through lessons made clear in literature and history. The secrets
of the positive psychology character traits will be unlocked through the power of the messages that
can be revealed and embedded in lessons. Students will view literature/history through the lens of
positive psychology and in the process be directed to unlock the nature of their own self-belief.
Teachers will discover the character strengths of their students and will develop a curriculum unit
to teach to those strengths. This course has the power to help your students discover the power of
hope in their own lives through the teaching of social studies. Instructor: Kevin Sheehan Ed. D.,
