• Wastewater
• Energy
• Oil and Gas
• M2M and IOT applications
• Remote plants and assets monitoring
• Critical infrastructure monitoring
Water Data and Event Management
The overall responsibility of water utilities is to deliver good quality product (‘water’), at
appropriate pressure, in 365/24/7 manner, with minimal environmental impact and at
the lowest possible cost . Achieving this target is highly dependent on being able to
manage the three entities: assets, events and customers.
Our Water Data and Event Management solutions are capable to provide
advanced monitoring, data and event processing functionality and to optimize the
management of water and waste water networks. We have various applications
(DMA, CSO, quality, etc.) which provide an integrated environment for data generation;
data communication, data acquisitions and analysis (zonal configuration, flow
calculation and water consumption analysis, pressure management, waste water level,
velocity and flow measurement, asset management, energy management, water
quality monitoring, temporal and spatial analytics), alerts management (including
smart alarms, utilizing predictive algorithms), integration with third-party systems
(Schneider, Copa Data, Bentley, RW Systems, KeyPro, Deloitte, etc), assisting the
operational management and decision-making of the Water Utilities . There are
options for Cloud Intelligent Services utilising Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business
model or "On premises" installation. Our applications have the capabilities to provide
web-based public access to water networks status via any standard web browser and
mobile applications.

– Open channel flow measurement
Flow Monitoring (Krohne)
• Metasphere Point (Green, Orange, or Blue) connecting to the Waterflux over RS485 Half Duplex.
• Metasphere and Krohne have global partnership for this solution.
• Connecting to Metasphere’s Palette Cloud service, client SCADA or FTP server.
Installations now being completed with
Krohne Waterflux 3070 in Denmark,
Vietnam, Fiji & Papua New Guinea with
projects due to Start in South Africa &
Dubai shortly.
Pressure Monitoring – (Impress)
Pressure management in Potable Water &
Gas Networks.
Using Metasphere Point Orange or Blue (Gas)
using 4-20mA output transducers. Used for
network management and Pressure Reduction
Valve Monitoring
Ultrasonic – Level & Flow (Pulsar)
Metasphere’s standard waste Water level
monitoring solution is the Point Orange/Blue
with Pulsar’s dBi. We have supplied over
1000 of these combined solutions over the
past year.
The Point unit is loop powering over 4-20mA
the Pulsar equipment and then
communicating back to a Telemetry or
SCADA system.
Flow Monitoring – (Mainstream)
• Bespoke development by Metasphere to integrate the Mainstream velocity probe with the Point Orange (Funded by Sydney Water)
• In pipe flow monitoring
• Mainstream uses the area-velocity method to give a continuous or time sample measurement of fluid flow. Mainstream uses a streamlined probe that operates immersed in the flowing liquid
Flow Monitoring – (Flexim)
• Clamp-on flow meters for closed pipe flow monitoring.
• Zero Pipe interference (No Drill)
• Connects to Point Colour via Modbus 485.
Connecting to Metasphere’s Palette Cloud service.
Turbidity Monitoring
Hydrogen Sulphide Monitoring - Dosing
• White Paper given by Sydney Water to Oz-Water (May 16) about huge savings in chemical costs due to more accurate network monitoring that was integrated into the Central Telemetry system.
• This solution was permanently powering and monitoring the sensor, whilst capable of operating this way it has a notable impact upon the battery life.
DNP3 Protocol
The DNP3 protocol has a number of features and advantages. However, the following features are particularly useful for water and wastewater applications:
• Open protocol
• Time synchronization
• Time-stamped data
• Unsolicited messages
• Report by exception
• Secure authentication
• Diagnostic information for each I/O point
• Communication to multiple masters
Master Control
Fully functional telemetry/SCADA
High reliability
Extreme scalability
Flexible communications options
Master Control supports a very wide range of communications media including fixed link, scanning radio, PSTN, GSM, GPRS, IP WANs, and satellite.
Historian and web access
Interfacing to business systems
Master Control has been enhanced over the years to provide a range of standard solutions to allow interfacing of telemetry/SCADA data with other business systems such as GIS, work management and asset management.
On Demand Telemetry Service
An alternative solution for organisations wanting a telemetry system without having
to maintain the resources and infrastructure themselves. The service is modular
and flexible and is tailored to your needs. Costs are fixed annually, regardless of
maintenance issues and there are no licensing agreements.
On Demand Telemetry System
Benefits
•Significantly lower total costs for
each customer site.
•Managed servers; no internal IT
support or management required.
•Access to information 24/7.
•Full configuration option ensures
that the correct data is collected
when it is needed.

RW Systems Water Office
• A spatial asset management system, compliant with ISO 55000
• Supports water supply including ground water, drainage and irrigation
• Covers the full asset lifecycle – from planning, to existing and then finally the decommissioning; this allows full transparency of the planning and decision procesesses that lead to the as-built situation
• Integrates with other IT systems, such as ERP, CIS, SCADA, etc. to enable a full 360⁰ perspective upon the asset data
• Beyond the basic network registration, it can assist most business processes of the various departments within a water company:– Optimize the planning of network
rehabilitation and extensions– Support daily operations such as
managing outages, or respond to CBYD requests
– Monitor DMAs for Non Revenue Water
Master Control monitors and controls over 2,000
geographically distributed locations ranging from
pressure monitors and flow meters to pumps and
reservoirs.
The scope is: over 18,000 kilometres of mains, 14 dams
268 service reservoirs, 153 pumping stations and 11 filtration plants. 1250
Remote Telemetry Units monitor these assets in the MC system and give
personnel, based in an operations centre, the ability to check the state of
valves, reservoir levels or water pressure at any location within a 150km
radius.1 Systemic control of water and
wastewater
2 Incident Management
3 Energy Management
4 Resource Utilisation
5 Condition monitoring of assets
6 Derived information
7 Central data storage and archiving.
Offline hydraulic models provide
guidance for future settings of
operational parameters and these
are fed into MC as dynamic
configurable variables.
