CARES Act 2nd Disbursement
• A total of $27.5 Million will be requested from FTA, including $1.25 Million in Appalachian funding
• Funding is for 5311-eligible community transit systems• Amounts for each system are generally based on the
total of other federal and state funding commitments for operations
CARES Act 2nd Disbursement
• Totals for each system are the sum of:– ROAP funds for counties each system covers
(assuming typical year appropriation of $18.6 Million)– FY20 SMAP amounts– FY21 application totals for 5310 and 5311 operating,

CARES Act Funding Reminders
• CARES Act can only be used for 5311-eligible activities.
• Only public transportation open to the general public is typically eligible under 5311.
• 5310 and ROAP trips which are not open to the general public are not eligible.
CARES Act Future Disbursement Plans
• 3rd disbursement will likely be based on need• Systems may be required to submit OpStats data for
FY21 first quarter (July through September)• Other survey requests related to revenue, expenses,
and need may be needed to supplement the OpStatsdata
