Preventive Fire Safety – a must!Fire and smoke have fascinated andinterested people since the beginning oftime. They provide warmth, a feeling ofcomfort and can be used in the preparationof food. However, in their negative sense,fire and smoke can also pose a seriousthreat to human life and valuables. Firesafety has therefore played a valuable roleever since people have started living side-by-side one another. It has taken onvarious forms, dependent on the whole onwhat technologies were available. Thediligent night-watchman fulfilled his role,just as construction regulations did, whichwere intended to prevent the spread offires in a similar way as the firstmechanical fire detectors did.

A communications geniusthanks to the latest technology.The Integral IP MX uses the principleof decentralized intelligence with anautonomous search for open informationchannels and more precise, to the pointcommunication. Modular constructionand backward compatibility allow theflexible and unrestricted adaptation tothe size of the building and to existingsystems. Redundancy guarantees100% system availability. The increasinglycomplex requirements placed ontechnology have been satisfied by furtherminiaturization of components andincreased packing density. The Integral IP MX setsnew trends and standards.The Integral IP MX fire alarm controlpanel has been optimized to providemore functions and has been fitted withforward-looking technical features.Integral LAN is the new networkingmethod, which makes it possible toconnect up to 16 subcontrol units togetherinto a logical unit in the form of a meshnetwork. Network security reaches a newlevel, with optimal availability andconsiderably increased exchange of dataas well as a flexible and almost unlimitedtopology. The new standard and networkoperating panel, the Integral MAP,

extended operability with many newfunctions. Integral IP MX –100% Redundancy as a principle.A fire alarm control panel’s mostimportant job is to efficiently detect afire at the earliest possible point in time.Schrack Seconet systems also distinguishthemselves with a unique feature – theyoffer 100% redundancy. This means thatall electronic elements and componentsare present in duplicate so that the systemremains fully functional even in the eventof a fault occurring.

Hardware redundancyfor double security.The fire alarm control panel settles theissue for itself. And you will not notice itdoing so. As soon as a fault occurs in theactive half of the system, the Integral IPrecognises this immediately, andautomatically switches over internallyto the system which is ready for use.The fault is indicated on the operatingpanel, while all functions of the entiresystem remain completely available andunimpeded. Only full redundancy is ableto guarantee the system’s performance andstability at the highest level.

The system’s advantage:backward compatibility.A fire alarm system must be effective andperform well, but must also be flexiblein its construction. We offer the perfectsolution. All systems are forward andbackward compatible. This means thatall technical components of a systemdeveloped and installed by SchrackSeconet can communicate with oneanother, even when different parts arefrom different generations. The operatorof a system can continue to use hisexisting components while still being

able to participate in technologicalprogress. Modernisation on a step-by-step basis is also possible quickly andwithout problems.

Software redundancyfor double performance.Software redundancy is the congenialpartner to hardware redundancy. Thedouble level of security forms an importantfactor for the monitoring of the system.Double performance is only possible if thesystem is fully-functional under everycondition. Simple and intuitive operation.The Integral MAP operating panel can beused as a standard or network operatingpanel, and is used for the easy operationof the fire alarm system. It offers astructured overview of all system processesand is attractive thanks to its high level ofuser-friendliness. The operating interfaceand display texts are available in morethan 20 languages, and it is possibleto switch between up to four differentlanguages while the system is in operation.The simple and intuitive operating guidemakes work for users, expert staff andthe emergency services a lot easier.The operating panel ensures that requiredinformation is always available and canalso be used remotely.

Integral LAN with mesh network.High speed, direct routes, cleartargeting, the highest level of securityagainst failure – all the basicrequirements placed on a fire alarmsystem. The new Integral LAN meshnetwork fulfils all these requirements.Its basic principle is to establish multipleconnections between the individualnetwork nodes. Even in the event ofmultiple – only imaginable in theory –connection faults, every system devicestill always has one connection to thenetwork. This system increases securitymany times over and reduced the risk offailure to zero, and also creates greater

flexibility in building networks andforming structures. Up to 16 fire alarmcontrol panels can be connectedin the form of such a fail-proofmesh network.

Forward-looking IP architecture.Standards and directives demand exclusivelyusable networks for fire alarm systems. Thesafety of human life and assets has absolutepriority. For this reaction notification ofthe emergency forces is only permitted oversuch a network. It is, however, possibleto incorporate the Integral IP MX in tothe IT infrastructure of a building and touse existing communications structures.For this reason, the control panel hasbeen fitted with IP (Internet Protocol)technology. Network modules with differentinterfaces such as RS485, optic fibre orDSL are all available. The high datatransmission speed allows completednew applications, such is softwareupdates during ongoing operation.The redundancy of the systems andnetworks by Schrack Seconet is hithertowithout equal. Direct communication –simple and clear.The system offers practically unlimitedpossibilities for communication. TheIntegral IP MX can also be integratedinto the SecoLOG fire alarm managementsystem. Then it is easy to have a normaloverview of the entire system. Remoteaccess to the control panel is also possibleover the Internet and Intranet using“Remote Access”. It is also possible tohave a virtual operating panel on the PC.This supports the user and allows the userto be kept informed at all times, as it ispossible to control the system and analysisstatus reports from anywhere.

Effective protection and monitoring.Compatible – customisable –networkable! These three propertiescharacterise the Integral IP MXaccurately. The Integral familyextinguishing system control panelscan be networked to each other andincorporated into a fire alarm controlpanel network. Such a system solutionwithin a single unit provides multiplebenefits for the user. Users can combineboth solutions in a single system andcan also connect it to an Integral LAN.In addition to cost-saving advantages inthe construction process and the fact thatcombined systems requires less space,

servicing can also be carried out moreefficiently. All functions and controllerscan be freely programmed and networkedwith other functions in the system.Links can be established betweendetectors, modules and fire alarm devicesover loop circuits, subcontrol units andfire alarm control panels. The flexibilityof the system and the directives forapproval allow combined use as a firealarm control panel and extinguishingsystem control panel or use solelyas an extinguishing systemcontrol panel.

For integrationin every environment.The Integral IP MX fire alarm controlpanel, with a reputation as one of thesafest and most flexible fire alarmsystems on the market, earns thisaccolade thanks to the many possibleadditional functions. A matching controlsystem for extinguishing systems can alsobe integrated. The automatic control anddelay system can control all current typesof stationary extinguishing control panelsas a single or multizone extinguishingcontrol panel. The system’s redundantconstruction also allows the integrationof up to 32 extinguishing zones inconformance with standards.

Reacts reliably and quickly.When exposed to extreme conditions,a high level of resistance is required withregard to electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) and against dust, moisture, orextreme temperatures. These influencesare unable to disrupt the Integral IP MXfire alarm control panel. Even whenexposed to such conditions, it remainsfully functional, since the robust natureof the system and cabinet ensure that itis able to withstand the most challengingof conditions. Self-test routines are usedto ensure than any faulty functioningdoes not go undiscovered for long. Anysystem state deviating from the norm isdetected and reported very out delay.

Fire alarm control panels.The Integral IP MX system is a modular, decentrallyconstructed system, comprising of individual components,programmed and configured according to the requirementsof the individual system in question.Each control panel forms an autarchic unit with its own powersupply and battery backup supply, to which external operatingpanels, fire brigade control panels, printers etc. can beconnected as well as detector zones and controllers. To ensuresystem security, all components and electronic elements arefitted fully-redundantly (in duplicate).Depending on the size of the system, up to 16 control panelscan be spread around the building and networked using anEthernet mesh network. Free cabling topology allows theoptimum adaptation of the mesh network to prevailingstructural conditions.Integral IP MX control panels can be directly connected to thebuilding’s IT infrastructure, with Internet and Intranet accessto them possible at no extra expense. Electronic Control and Delay Unit.Due to the special redundancy concept and the particularhigh level of security, ensured for a wide range of uses, theIntegral IP MX system can also be used as an Integral IP MXEextinguishing system control panel or as an Integral IPMXF/MXE combined fire alarm and extinguishing systemcontrol panel. Special cabinet and external operating panelsversions are available with an additional LED parallel indicatortableau. The Integral IP MXE then conforms to the terms ofthe standards and directives EN 12094-1 and VdS 2496, andis also suitable and approved for controlling more than oneextinguishing zone and for monitoring the following fireextinguishing systems:

• CO2 high & low pressure extinguishing systemswhere life is or is not endangered.

• Inert gas and argon extinguishing systemswhere life is or is not endangered.

• Water spray and mist water deluge systems• Pre-action sprinkler systems• Sprinkler systems• Chemical extinguishing systems

High End Operating Panel.The High-End Operating Panel with a VGA colour displayand function keys allows the easy operation of a fire alarmsystem and a structured overview of complex SecoNET firealarm networks.
