Optional accessory for the following appliances:
Greenstar Si
Greenstar i junior
The Charging Link is supplied as an accessory pack.
Check that the following parts are contained within the pack:

The integral charging link enables the central heating
system to be filled and recharged at the boiler.
The system pressure should be approximately 1.5 bar
as shown on the pressure gauge built into the
control panel fascia of the Si and i junior appliances.
These instructions detail fitting and using the Integral

2.1. Close the isolating valves on both the DHW inlet and CH return connections.
2.2. Check that the boiler or Pre-filling Kit (7 716 192 282) is installed correctly onto the Manifold
Assembly and the gas and all water connections are tight.
2.3. Unscrew the blanking plugs from both the DHW inlet and CH return connections.
2.4. Place the filter inside the inlet of the Charging Link ensuring that the filter mesh is inside the
Charging Link assembly.2.5. Fit the Charging Link assembly onto the DHW inlet and CH return connections (Fig. 1).

2.6 Ensure that the Charging Link is pushed in fully to the stop tabs on both sides of the
Charging Link (Fig. 2).
2.7. Fit an M4 screw and lock washer in at least two places on each of the two connections.
NOTE: It is impossible to access some of the screw holes, so these can be ignored.
Do not attempt to turn the brass DHW inlet or CH return connections.
2.7. Ensure that the white plastic Control Screw on the Charging Link is turned clockwise into
the fully closed position (Fig. 4.1).
NOTE: Do not insert the Charging Key at this stage.2.8. Open the isolating valves on both the DHW inlet and CH return connections.

3.1 The alternative type of manifold assembly has octagonal connections with four fixing
holes on each connection.
Fit the Charging Link Assembly in exactly the same manner as for the previous manifold
assembly except that the M4 retaining screws and lock washers fit at different locations.

4 INSERTING THE CHARGING KEY
CAUTION: If the Charging Key is not properly seated and turned to the stop, when the
Control Screw is opened, the water pressure will push the key out, causingwater to be discharged into the room.
4.1. Ensure that the arrow on the Charging Key shaft lines up with the symbol of the open
padlock (Fig 4.2). Push the Charging Key firmly in until the key is fully seated.
Turn the key to the stop, the key arrow should now be aligned with the closed padlock
symbol (Fig 4.3). If the Charging Key turns beyond this stop, it is not fully located.
Try again pushing the key upwards and turn until fully engaged. The key then should only
turn between the mechanical stops.

5.1. The central heating system can be filled or recharged via the DHW inlet using the Charging Link.
Turn the white plastic Control Screw anticlockwise, to allow water to flow into the CH system
and bring the pressure up to 1.5 bar on the pressure gauge.
Monitor the pressure gauge and when approximately 1.5 bar is reached, fully turn the Control
Screw, clockwise to close.
11. Turn the key anti-clockwise to align the arrow with the open padlock symbol and pull the key
firmly down to remove.
NOTE: Replace the key in the clip provided on the inside of bottom panel of the boiler
