Leicester Tigers Stadium was the venue for this year’s

Integra Expo, which took place on Thursday April 23rd.

Now in its third year, this one day event provided

members with the chance to network with their peers,

meet existing and potential new suppliers, access

show exclusive deals and attend tailored workshops

designed to promote new business opportunities.

Aidan McDonough, Integra’s Managing Director

opened the event, welcoming over 220 delegates

including 55 key partners exhibiting on the day. The

comprehensive agenda included an extensive Supplier

Exhibition, a series of sales-focussed presentations led

by some of the industry’s longest established brands,

a stadium tour and a Q&A session with rugby

legend Martin Corry MBE.

Aidan shared his thoughts on the future for

the OP channel and outlined a number of

potential new product areas on show

at the event, which he said offer

members the opportunity to

increase revenues.

The Integra Expo has been a huge success over the last couple of years and this year’s event was no exception.

The Medieval Mayhem theme went down a storm, but it has to be said that the atmosphere in the exhibition hall was definitely more ordered than chaotic! Our key partners put on a great show, entering into the spirit of the day, showcasing their

products and services, engaging with members and offering a fantastic number of themed on-stand promotions and activities, which were enjoyed by all.

Integra’s Expo and National Conference provide all of us with a fantastic opportunity to meet and engage with each other face

to face, under one roof, and to find out more about new business opportunities. This year we highlighted the potential for growth within 3D Printing, MPS, FM, Furniture and even iPhones.

These events are also a great excuse to catch up and share ideas with friends and colleagues and I was delighted to see so many of you take the time out to join us.

I hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. I’d like to thank all of our key partners whose valued support makes events like this a reality. I look forward to welcoming you to our National Conference at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire, on the 26th November.

This year’s Supplier Exhibition showcased an amazing array of products and services from 55 of the OP industry’s best-known brands. Members made the most of the opportunity to view the latest products and take advantage of the vast number of fantastic show exclusive promotional offers.

During the day, many attendees demonstrated their fearlessness by participating in Integra’s Arrow Break and Glass Walk Challenges set by Turquoise Tiger. Two brave members, Adam Khan from Green Office Supplies and Heather

Carter from Ace Office Environments Ltd, both won a £100 Red Letter Day Gift Voucher for facing their fears in the Arrow Break and Glass Walk challenges respectively.

For those without nerves of steel, the Integra team challenged them to Learn to Juggle and compete in the Laser Archery competition – both of which required a very steady hand.

The Laser Archery Competition was won by Jason Swepson of Walters Ltd. who received a signed Leicester Tigers shirt, while proving he was able to keep his eye on the ball, resulted in Gavin Mcfarlane of Walters Ltd. winning an iPad Mini for demonstrating his prowess juggling three balls.

The Changing Dynamics of the Paper Market

Tim Percival, National Office Director at Antalis UK hosted the first workshop of the day, focusing on helping members to identify the margin potential in paper. Tim provided an overview of the paper market in terms of volume and margin, adding that whilst volumes are in decline – not all paper is the same. He said that by better understanding the office paper market and the grades on offer, there is a massive opportunity for dealers to increase both sales and profit.

To illustrate his point, he cited the opportunity within the premium paper segment. He compared a typical C grade paper which is showing an annual decline in volume of c9% and which offers a typical 8% dealer margin, with an A or A++ grade, ideal for digital or colour printing and which offers a potential 22-28% margin opportunity.

An Introduction to 3D Printing

Amy Horn from Environmental Business Products provided valuable insight into the world of 3D printing, a market that is fast growing. According to Gartner, worldwide unit sales are expected to hit 1.1 million by 2017.

Integra members have access to the exclusive VOW range of 3D printers and consumables which with an entry-level price point of just £1,200 and a compact footprint, makes the potential to talk 3D print with customers a reality.

Amy explained more about this exciting, new product sector that is becoming widely adopted in education, corporate and even home markets, and ran through the key FABs of the robust, feature-rich and functional STEDi range available to members.

Untapping the Opportunities of FM

Rebecca Stallard, Marketing Director, Spicers ran a practical session centred on helping dealers tap into the £5 billion sales opportunity offered by FM.

Rebecca spoke about the need for FM products in every workplace environment, adding that every dealer in the room had a right to play in that sector. She provided relevant tips and sound advice on how dealers could potentially double customer spend, covering how to identify the right buyers, how to qualify leads and uncover the new sales opportunities that exist within their existing customer bases.

An Audience with Martin Corry MBE

For some, the highlight of the day was listening to rugby legend Martin Corry MBE speak about his career. Martin regaled the audience with stories about his time with the England squad and the part he played in winning the Rugby World Cup in 2003 (modestly summarising his input as playing for 45 minutes against Uruguay and a night out with Jason Leonard!) as well as his experiences in 2007, when England lost to South Africa.

He spoke about being offered the opportunity to captain the England team, his pride putting on the England shirt for the first time as well as winning five Premiership titles and two Heineken Cups during his time as a professional player.

Martin opened up the floor to members and engaged in an informal question and answer session, following which members were able to meet the man himself, for photos and receive a signed rugby ball.

Rugby World Cup 2015 Competition Winner

All members who pre-registered and attended EXPO 2015 were entered into a prize draw to win a Rugby World Cup 2015 weekend break for two.

Congratulations go to Gary Ketley of SOS who took away this amazing prize which includes two tickets for two Quarter Final matches and overnight accommodation, £40 worth of WRC merchandise and an official Rugby World Cup 2015 Jersey.
