Chris Flieller (Jeffrey, et al/Artistic Director, In Tandem Theatre) A fixture both on and backstage for more than 25 years in Milwaukee, Chris has numerous credits

to his name. Acting credits include In Tandem Theatre, Skylight Opera Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Theatre X, First Stage Children’s Theatre, and the Marcus Center/Milwaukee Repertory. Among his directing credits are WONDER OF THE WORLD, SHAW SHORTS, THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES, HOLIDAY HELL, POLISH FROST, HOME, EQUUS (in a co-presentation with the UWM undergraduate acting program) OLD WICKED SONGS, and most recently THRILL ME: THE LEOPOLD AND LOEB STORY for In Tandem. Chris directed ORPHEUS DESCENDING for the UWM Theatre Program and coaches numerous dialect and performance workshops. In March 2012, Chris will direct the regional premiere of THE CHOSEN for In Tandem.

Jane Flieller (Director/Managing Director, In Tandem Theatre) A former stage manager, Jane toured nationally with the Great American Children’s Theatre

Company and has worked locally for Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, First Stage Children’s Theatre, Theatre Tesseract, Next Act Theatre and Next Generation Theatre. For several years, Jane was the stage manager for ComedySportz, a position she originated. She co-founded In Tandem Theatre with her husband, Chris, in 1998 and now unleashes her creative energies in all aspects of running a small arts organization. Jane’s directing credits include In Tandem, Whitefish Bay High School, Carroll College and Broadway Baby Dinner Theatre. She looks forward to directing VERONICA’S POSITION for In Tandem Theatre in the spring. As always, she gives thanks to her beloved husband, partner and best friend, Chris, through whom all things are possible.

Jacque Troy (Mrs. Mannerly) Jacque is delighted to return to In Tandem Theatre for the third time, having last appeared in HA! She has proudly worked with most of

Milwaukee’s professional companies. Most recently, she was seen in THE TEMPEST with Optimist Theatre, DUET FOR ONE and RABBIT HOLE with Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE with Milwaukee Repertory Theater and WITNESS at First Stage Children’s Theatre. You can see her soon in a small role in the feature film WATERWALK and in MCT’s BUS STOP. She dedicates this performance to Deb and thanks her for “all I learned in just a few short days.”

Scott Wirtz-Olsen (Lighting and Set Designer) Scott is thrilled to be back working with In Tandem Theater on this production. He has been working

professionally in the Milwaukee theatre community as both a designer and in productions for the last 15 years. Past design work includes, BARBER OF SEVILLE and KING AND I for Ash Lawn Opera in Virginia, WEST SIDE STORY for Opera Illinois, WERTHER for Bowen Park Opera, SPINNING INTO BUTTER for Renaissance Theatreworks, APARTMENT 3A, THE GOOD DOCTOR, WHAT THE NIGHT IS FOR, and HA! for In Tandem Theatre, and no fewer than twenty productions for First Stage Children’s Theatre and the First Stage Theater Academy. Scott has recently joined the faculty at Cardinal Stritch University as Designer and Technical Director. He would like to extend a big thank you to Chris and Jane for years of continued friendship and trust, as well as to his wife Peg, daughter Maddie, and son, Garrett, for their love and continued support as he ventures down another path in this long theatrical journey.

His favorite designs include ART OF MURDER, FREAKSHOW, GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES, and his very first trek into audible scenic sculpting, MILL FIRE. Visit www.watsound.com.

Alan Piotrowicz (Rehearsal Stage Manager) Alan has worked in the Tenth Street Theatre many times, but finally has the opportunity to work with the illustrious In Tandem team. Alan is a freelance director and lighting designer and has had the good fortune of working with many companies in Wisconsin including Falls Patio Players, First Stage, Four Seasons, Milwaukee Chamber, Milwaukee Rep, Next Act, Pink Banana, Sunset Playhouse, and Youngblood, among others. Upcoming projects include directing and designing SOME ENCHANTED EVENING at Falls Patio (October 7-9) and directing DEAD MAN’S CELL PHONE with Pink Banana Theatre Company in November. Since then, Colin has completed his undergraduate work at UWM where he studied Stage Management and Lighting. Cindy Thomas (Administrative/Marketing Assistant, In Tandem Theatre) Cindy has been with In Tandem Theatre since August of 2008 as Marketing/

Administrative Assistant. She has been involved with the arts, especially music, since she can remember. After graduating in 1981 from Silver Lake College with a BA in Voice and a minor in music business, Thomas moved to Milwaukee where she managed the print music departments of two local music stores and worked in sales/marketing for a print music publishing company. Cindy has sung and performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Music Under the Stars, Bel Canto Chorus, and is currently a member of the Florentine Opera Chorus.

Miranda Levy (Gallery Curator, In Tandem Theatre’s Tenth Street Gallery/Volunteer Bar Manager) Miranda grew up in Wilton, Wisconsin and joined the military at

seventeen. She served eight years in the Army as a construction equipment mechanic where she was fortunate enough to serve in Germany for two months of the three years of her active duty service. Shortly after her tour on Active Duty, she attended UW-Milwaukee where she received her BFA in Photography and Fibers in 2009. Throughout her career as an artist, she has competed in several local juried exhibitions and has shown her work in fashion shows at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Her artwork compares the decoration of domestic spaces with the decoration of the female body, and explores how identity is formed though this process.

YOU SHOULD KNOW

In Tandem supports young artists in many ways. One of the ways we can do that is by providing opportunities for them to earn a little money while practicing their craft or meeting the public. Periodically, In Tandem has volunteer pianists play in the lobby before and after shows. They work for tips. Miranda Levy, who works part-time for In Tandem as our Gallery Curator while pursuing her artistic endeavors, donates her time to be our bar manager for nearly every performance. She, too, works for tips. So if you enjoyed the music and/or a nice refreshing cocktail, feel free to toss a dollar or two their way. They thank you, we thank you!

DIRECTOR ’S NOTES

A car cuts you off when you’re merging onto the freeway -- and the driver gives you a dirty look. People block the aisles in the grocery store, oblivious to everything around them except the cell phone welded to their ear; laughing, griping or cursing loud enough to blister the ears of young mothers with toddlers in tow. Otherwise sane, normal folks transform into vitriol spewing maniacs in the blogosphere. We have entered a new age -- the age of rude.

Seriously folks, can we please just take a breath, calm down, look around, and consider how our behavior affects those around us? And ultimately, ourselves?

While manners might seem out of fashion, good manners go beyond extending the pinkie, keeping your elbows off the table, or the ability to identify the shrimp fork. Manners and etiquette are the guidelines for a civilized community. They are awareness and respect. They are loyalty and discretion. Without manners, we lose the ability to effectively communicate and interact. We can afford to use a soup soon to eat our sorbet, but we simply cannot afford the decline of common courtesy when we disregard the guidelines of good manners.

Listen to Mrs. Mannerly - she has the right idea. And her timing couldn’t be more perfect.

ARE WE THERE YET? IN TANDEM’S ANNUAL CA MPAIGN !

In Tandem Theatre is a nonprofit arts organization. The cost of running an organization and putting on the shows that you have come to love, cannot be covered by ticket and concession sales alone. Contributions, grants and sponsorships make up the rest of our annual budget. In order to remain financially stable, In Tandem needs to balance these sources of revenue as evenly as possible. Our annual goal for individual contributions for the 2011-2012 season is $20,000. Won’t you help drive us to our final destination! Make your tax deductible donation today!

PROGR A M

MRS. MANNERLYBy Jeffrey Hatcher

October 7 - 23, 2011

Inspired by hilarious memories of a childhood etiquette class, playwright Jeffrey Hatcher conjures up the world of a nine-year old studying manners from the title character. Mrs. Mannerly is a demanding teacher and no student in her 36 years of

etiquette classes has achieved a perfect score. But when he discovers her secret past, young Jeffrey is determined to be the first. A unique comic tale about the

face we present and the selves inside.

SCROOGE IN ROUGEBy Ricky Graham and Jefferson Turner

With additional material by Jeff Roberson and Yvette HargisDecember 2 - 31, 2011

In a British Music Hall at the turn-of-the-century, a troupe of 23 actors is about to embark on a musical version of the beloved classic, A Christmas Carol – when 20 of them come

down with food poisoning! Just three are left to pull off this bawdy and hilariously funny show as costumes fly and mayhem ensues! Back by popular demand for one last year!!

THE CHOSENBy Aaron Posner and Chaim Potok

March 2 - 25, 2012

In 1940’s Brooklyn, two Jewish boys whose life paths are preordained, must weigh the cost of choosing their own destinies. Adapted for the stage from Chaim Potok’s

classic novel. The Chosen won the Barrymore Award for Outstanding New Play.

VERONICA’S POSITIONBy Rich Orloff

May 4 - 20, 2012

Love, politics and art collide in this romantic comedy set in Washington, D.C, 1990. A dashing senator, a suave ex-husband, and a sexy female director force movie star Veronica into a delightfully uncomfortable position! Winner of: Festival of Emerging American Theatre; InterPlay International Play Festival; New Plays in

America Festival; and, Center Theatre New Play Contest
