CVCC President’s Corner October 2012 As this column is being written there are many events swirling around our country. There is about 1 month before the Presidential election; the State Senate races are in full swing. The congressional contests and local elections fill the airwaves as well. Baseball has begun their playoff series. Football is on fire. Plus the rest of the sports world celebrates a variety of introductory seasons. Please don’t forget that a new generation of Corvette is being assembled at the Bowling Green, KY. Corvette plant. The speculation is almost driving bloggers bonkers on the chat lines as to engine choices, body styles and options that will be offered for viewing to the public at the annual Detroit Auto Show in January. The words evolution rather than revolution is often repeated by those “in the know” about these subjects. Direct port injection, possible supercharging, 7 speed manual transmissions and continued upgraded magnetorheological suspension tuning seem to be a lock in the C7. Will Chevrolet be able to increase sales with the new generation models? My guess is yes. Some buyers are definitely waiting to see what it looks like after 9 years with the award winning C6 body generation. It has been quite a ride for C6-when you consider the stellar performance record against all other super cars that cost 3 and 4 times as much. GM engineering-is fantastic. Racecar prep and driving is just first class. Our club continues to work on improving by investigating new activities for our members. There will be more on this at the next club meeting at The Tavern/ Stone River Grille in Sandy Hook (10/18/12) in 2 weeks. Please attend. Every member is important to all. We thank you for your help and support. We will vote in December for the officer’s slate. Please bring forward any new names that may be willing to help in November for a spot on the ballot. CVCC Vice President Corner: October 2012

With the onset of Autumn, we begin to realize how quickly times flies. The days are shorter but it gives us an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the changing colors. The past month was filled with some wonderful events. Linda gave us a REAL surprise with a cruise to the Porsche world. We love our corvettes! Dr. and Mrs. Gish love Porsches, ALL OF THEM!! From the welcome banner to the snacks and ice cream soda, it was an event that everyone enjoyed. Thank you to our hosts and to Linda. This past Sunday, some of our members attended the "Vettes in the village" event at Mystic, Ct. It was a "SUNNY DAY", which translated into 250 corvettes. It helps when you have a direct line to the weatherman. This Thursday, the 18th, we have our monthly meeting at the Stone River Grille in Sandy Hook, Newtown, CT. Elections for officers will be held and many other important issues will be discussed. Sunday there will be a lunch cruises, weather permitting. Activities Calendar News The club is planning a busy 2012 with activities penciled in for every month.

Below is a look at the tentative schedule. If there are other events you would like to see added please contact one of our officers or bring up the subject at one of the meetings. This is your club and we want to be sure we are planning activities that are of interest to our members. As in years past we will hold our executive meeting on the first Thursday of each month and the general membership meeting on the third Thursday of every month. Everyone is encouraged to attend these

meetings.
