In industrial estates tax concession is given inorder to motivate entrepreneurs.

Industries such as SIPCOT (State industries

promotion council of Tamil Nadu) play a role. The institutes give loans at a concessional rate

interest and support the entrepreneurs.

Started in the year 1978 to provide

integrated administrative framework atthe district level for promotion of smallscale industries in rural areas.

They are the implementing arm of the

various schemes offered by the Centraland State Government from time to time.

At present there are 422 DICs operating in431 districts of our country.

The organizational structure of DICS

consists of General Manager,Functional Managers and ProjectManagers to provide technical

services in the areas relevant to theneeds of the district concerned. Thesuccess of DICs depend largely on the

General Managers.
