1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

* Before installation or use, be sure to carefully read all the instructions in this section for correct and safeoperation.

* Be sure to follow all the precautionary instructions in this section, which contain important warnings and/orcautions regarding safety.

* After reading, keep this manual handy for future reference.

Safety Symbol and Message ConventionsSafety symbols and messages described below are used in this manual to prevent bodily injury and propertydamage which could result from mishandling. Before operating your product, read this manual first andunderstand the safety symbols and messages so you are thoroughly aware of the potential safety hazards.

,!WARNING

,!CAUTION

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if mishandled, couldresult in moderate or minor personal injury, and/or property damage.

C ,ßWARNING ) ii Apparatet mä tilkoples jordet stikkontakt.

ii Apparaten skall anslutas till jordat uttag.

l

When Installing The Unit

* Do not expose the unit to rain or an environmentwhere it may be splashed by water or other liquids,as doing so may result in fire or electric shock.

* Use the unit only with the voltage specified onthe unit. Using a voltage higher than that which isspecified may result in fire or electric shock.

a Do not cut, kink, otherwise damage normodify the power supply cord. In addition, avoidusing the powercord in close proximity toheaters, and never place heavy objectsincluding the unit itself on the power cord, asdoing so may result in fire or electric shock.

* The terminals marked with the symbol f arehazardous live. The external wiring to theseterminals requires installation by an instructedperson.

ii The socket-outlet shall be installed near the

equipmentand the plug (disconnecting device)shall be easilyaccessible.

* Be sure to replace the unit's terminal coverafter connection completion. Because thevoltage of up tol00V is applied to the highimpedance speakerterminals, never touch theseterminals to avoid electric shock.

ii Be sure to ground to the safety ground (earth)terminal to avoid electric shock. Never ground toa gas pipe as a catastrophic disaster may result.

* Apparatets stikprop skal tilsluttes en stikkontaktmed jord, som giver forbindelse til stikproppensjord.

* Laite on liitettävä suojakoskettimilla varustettuunpistorasiaan.

When The Unit is in Use

ii Should the following irregularity be found duringuse, immediately switch off the power, disconnectthe power supply plug from the AC outlet andcontact your nearest TOA dealer. Make no furtherattempt to operate the unit in this condition aä thismay cause fire or electric shock.

* If you detect smoke or a strange smell comingfrom the unit.

* If water or any metallic object gets into the unit.If the unit falls, or the unit case breaks. If the power supply cord is damaged (exposure of the core, disconnection, etc).

ii If it is malfunctioning (no tone sounds).

' To prevent a fire or electric shock, never open norremove the unit case as there are high voltagecomponents inside the unit. Refer all servicing toyour nearest TOA dealer.

' Do not place cups, bowls, or other containers ofliquid or metallic objects on top of the unit. If theyaccidentally spill into the unit, this may cause a fireor electric shock.

*

*

' Do not insert nor drop metallic object orflammable materials in the ventilation slots of the

unit's cover, as this may result in fire or electricshock.

a Class l construction shall be connected to a main

socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.

ii The ventilation should not be impeded bycovering the ventilation openings with items, suchas newspapers table-cloths, curtains, etc.

' No naked flames source such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.

a The use of apparatus in moderate climates.

When Installing The Unit

Never plug in nor remove the power supply plugwith wet hands, as doing so may cause electricshock.

When unplugging the power supply cord, be suretograspthe power supply plug, never pull onthe cord it self. Operating the unit with adamaged power supply cord may cause a fire orelectric shock.

When moving the unit, be sure to remove itspower supply cord from the wall outlet. Movingthe unit with the power cord connected to theoutlet may cause damage to the power cord, resulting in fire or electric shock. Whenremoving the power cord, be sure to hold its plugto pull.

Do not block the ventilation slots in the unit's

cover. Doing so may cause heat to build up insidethe unit and result in fire. Also periodically cleanthe ventilation slots of dust.

* Avoid installing the unit in humid or dusty location,in location exposed to direct sunlight, near theheaters, or in location generating sooty smoke orsteam as doing otherwise may result in fire orelectric shock.

To avoid electric shocks, be sure to switch off theunit's power when connecting speaker.Be sure to follow the instructions below when rack

mounting the unit. Failure to do so may cause afire of personal injury.

. Install the equipment rack on a stable, hard floor.Fix it with anchor bolts or take other arrangementsto prevent it from falling down.

. When connect the unit's power cord to an ACoutlet, use the AC outlet with current capacityallowable to the unit.

. Rack-mounting screws are not supplied with theunit. Prepare them that are appropriate for theequipment rack.

When The Unit is In Use

Do not place heavy object on the unit as this maycause it to fall or break which may result inpersonal injury and/or property damage. In addi-tion, the object it self may fall of and cause injuryand/or damage.Make sure that the volume control is set to mini-

mum position before power is switched on, Loudnoise produced at high volume when is power isswitched on can impair hearing.Switch OFF the unit's power before turning thephantom power switch ON or OFF. Operating theswitch without switching OFF the main powercould resulting a large transient noise thought thespeakers, potentially resulting in speaker failure.Avoid using phantom power when connecting anunbalanced microphone to the MIC 1 input, as themicrophone fails.Do not operate the unit for an extended period oftime with the sound distorting. Doing so maycause the connected speakers to heat, resulting inafire.

* Contact your TOA dealer as to the cleaning. If dustis allowed to accumulate in the unit over a longperiod of time, a fire or damage to the unit mayresult.

ii If dust accumulates on the power supply plug or inthe wall AC outlet, a fire may result. Clean itperiodically. In addition, insert the plug in the walloutlet securely.

ii Switch off the power, and unplug the power supplyplug from the AC outlet for safety purposes whencleaning or leaving the unit unused for 10 days ormore. Doing otherwise may cause a fire or electricshock
