INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING OUT

THE APPLICATION AND REFERENCE DOCUMENT

This document also includes the criteria used toassess the applying teams references.

1.GENERAL

It is recommended that this document be read simultaneously with the Appli-cation and Reference Document.

Between5-10participatingteamswillbeselectedfortheKruunusillatbridge

designcompetitionbasedontheteamsdemonstratedcompetence.

TheteamswilldemonstratetheircompetencebyllingouttheMicrosoftExcel

leApplicationandReferenceDocumentavailablefromthecompetition

organiserswebsite.TheApplicationandReferenceDocumentisintheEnglish

language,anditshallbelledoutinEnglish.

The references of the teams selected for the competition will be evaluatedexclusively on the basis of the content of the Application and ReferenceDocument. Other materials will not be taken into account in the assessment.

Itisrequiredthattheexpertiseoftheteamswishingtoparticipateinthe

competitionconsistsof,attheleast,theexpertiserequiredintheApplicationandReferenceDocument.Candidatesshallpresenttheexpertisebydesign

areawithrespecttoeachdesignerorexpert.Besidestherequireddesignersor

experts,thenamesoftheteamsotherpossiblemembersshallnotbestatedin

theledocumentApplicationandReferenceDocument.

Severaldesignersmaypresentthesamereferenceprojectorobject.

Onlythematerialsofteamscomplyingwithminimumrequirementswillbe

assessed.Withrespecttominordecienciesthereshallbecompliancewith

thegeneralproceduresconcerningminordecienciesspeciedintheFinnish

PublicProcurementActoritsapplicationinstructions(minordeciencieswillbe

toleratedtoadegree).

The information provided in the le Application and References Documentshall be truthful. The competition organiser, represented by the CompetitionJury, reserves the right to check the authenticity of the information provided.The provision of false information will lead to the disqualication of the appli-cation.

2.FUNCTIONALITYOFTHEAPPLICATIONANDREFERENCEDOCUMENT

Teams wishing to participate in the competition shall complete all requiredsections of the Application and Reference Document. The minimumamounts of information to be lled out are stated in the Application andReference Document; whenever the indication of a certain matter isrequired, it shall be indicated. Checkbox-type answers shall always be posi-tive. An unmarked checkbox will be interpreted as a negative response and willlead to rejection.

Theminimumrequirementsfortheinformationtobelledoutareshownin

lightgreen,andthesectionsforoptionaladditionalinformationareinashade

ofgreenslightlylighterthantheaforementionedshade(forexampleasinthe

referenceslistsatthelowerpartoftab2A.Bridgedesigner,structural).When

thesesectionshavebeenlledout,thebackgroundcolourbecomesaneutralwhite,andthepossiblegenerictextswilldisappear.Candidates shall not, orcannot, ll out the cells with other colours. If the information requested in theApplication and Reference Document cannot be provided or is irrelevant, adash or zero shall be used at the section in question. The table shall howeveralways be lled out with respect to the minimum requirements.

Pictureles(imagesorscanneddocuments)areattachedtopartsofthetabs.

Inthesecases,itisabsolutelynecessarythatthecheckboxconrmingthe

attachmentoftheimageleinquestionbemarked.Whentheattachmentof

thepicturelehasbeenacknowledgedbymarkingthecheckbox,theback-

groundcolourbecomesaneutralwhite.Teams wishing to participate in the

competition shall ensure that the images are suciently legible when viewedfrom a monitor, and are suciently readable when printed with a normaloce laser colour printer.

outintheupperformeldreservedforthebridgedesigner(structural).

Thedesignerinchargeshallbeauthorisedtofunctionasthechiefde-

signerforadesigntaskinhisorherhomecountryorcountryofresi-

denceequivalenttothiscompetitionsdesigntask.Thisshallbeindi-catedbymarkingtheYEScheckbox(aswellasbyattachingascanned

statementorcerticatefromalocalauthorisationbodyorequivalent

organisation,thatisattachedtothetabStatement2A).

Therecanbeatotaloftwobridgedesigners(structural).Theinforma-

Theresponsiblebridgedesigner(aesthetics)shallbeauthorisedtofunctionasthechiefdesignerforanaestheticsdesigntaskinhisorher

homecountryorcountryofresidenceequivalenttothiscompetitions

designtask.ThisshallbeindicatedbymarkingtheYEScheckbox(as

wellasbyattachingascannedstatementorcerticatefromalocal

authorisationbodyorequivalentorganisation,thatisattachedtothe

tabStatement2B).

Therecanbeatotaloftwobridgedesigners(aesthetics).Theinforma-

tionconcerningasecond(optional)bridgedesignershallifnecessary

belledoutinthelowerformeldreservedforthebridgedesigner

lledoutwiththereferenceprojectsinformation.Besidesanimageor

images,thesecondsheet(right)shallbelledoutwiththedesignersorexpertsbrieffree-formviewofthereferenceprojectsspecialfea-

English-languageversionofMicrosoftExcel,Office2010,andwasfoundtobefullyfunctional.The file must not be opened with earlier versions of MicrosoftExcel.

4.2TheApplicationandReferenceDocumentfileislockedtopreventunintentional

filecorruption.

4.3Toavoidprintingissues,onlytheAdobePDFprintershallbeusedwhenusing
