Instructions These Science Tab-Its are an excellent way for
your students to SHOW WHAT THEY KNOW at the end of your Science units of study or to be used
during your unit as a place for notes and research. After your students complete the Plants Tab-It Book, have them cut each page out by following along the gray dotted lines. Then, put three staples on the
far left side of the Tab-It Book and allow the students to glue them into their Interactive
Notebooks.

notebook or a composition notebook.
Teaching Notes Thank you so much for purchasing my Plants Tab-Its! I hope you enjoy implementing it in your classroom! I plan on using these Science Tab-Its two different ways in my classroom. In some cases, I will use the Tab-Its for my whole group lesson activity where the students work with partners or independently to complete the research that accompanies the specific Tab-It Booklet after my direct instruction lesson. In other cases, I will use the Tab-Its in my Work on Writing Station. I will expect the students to complete the research and writing independently after I teach the various lessons on that specific topic. Using the Tab-Its in this way will allow you to informally assess their depth of knowledge on the unit you just completed. If your students will be planting and making observations as their plant grows, I have also included a Plant Journal as the last page in the booklet. I also included additional pages for the plant journal to be stapled to the back of the booklet. You can use as many plant observation journal pages as you need. There are not “tabs” on the top of the plant journal pages with the exception of the first one. If you plan on adhering these Tab-Its in a Black and White Composition notebook, please REDUCE the size when copying to 92 %. I hope you enjoy implementing these Science Tab-Its in your classroom!
