INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS FOR ORAL OR POSTER PRESENTATION Deadline for abstract submission is September 20 th 2014 The abstracts are intended for presenting and discussing “work in progress”. Work submitted to other conferences is eligible, but not if published in full within the past year. Presented abstracts will be reproduced in the ESDE final program. Abstracts must be submitted via e-mail to: [email protected]. Please also submit details of the corresponding author including contact details. Please indicate whether you prefer oral or poster presentation. The abstracts should be presented as follows: 1. Abstracts must be Microsoft Word documents and written in English. They must be single- spaced and use Times New Roman, font size 10. 2. The title should be centered & bruef, and should clearly indicate the nature of the research . Capitalize the entire title. Abbreviations must NOT be used in the title of the abstract. 3. Immediately following the title, state the author’s name(s) and institution affiliation. Omit degrees, titles, appointments, etc… 4. Paragraphs should be separated by one line and not intended. Length of the abstract should be limited to 250 words ( excluding title and names of authot(s); highlight your document, then go to Tools/Word Count to check number of words). 5. The abstract should be accurate in its presentation (e.g. no misspelling, incorrect abbreviations, etc.) 6. The abstract should be objective and concise, including key information in its four sections: objectives, methods, results, conclusions. 7. Avoid excessive use of abbreviations other than standard abbreviations commonly used in medicine, surgery and gastroenterology. 8. Graphs or tables cannot be used. If your abstract is accepted, the abstract you submit will be available in electronic format with the Congress documents, Please follow the guidelines for submissions carefully and review your abstract for any spelling errors prior to submitting.
