“UNIVERSAL SELF CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE ULTIMATE AND LAST REVELATION OF DIVINE MESSAGE OF PROVIDENCE TO

MANKIND”.

Message from the Master Religion is only a preliminary stage for

preparing man for his march on the path of freedom. The end of religion is the beginning of spirituality; the end of spirituality is the beginning of Reality; and the end of Reality is the real Bliss. When that too is gone we have reached the destination. That is the highest mark which is almost inexpressible in words. I believe that the

controversy over the question of God is a fake one. For the sake of understanding we may call it “Zero” or the Centre or the Base. No nature (prakruti) and no universe can stand without the Base. There must be a backing for the existence and that backing is God or Brahman, Ultimate Reality. It is the Brahman, a

substance-less substance and a forceless force. In practical yoga jargon word ‘Tam’ indicates a highly developed state of spiritual Reality. It is beyond Purity, simplicity, and peace. The stage of negation which is the real life abides in it; and all activities cease before one reaches that point. It is the Central Point and the real state of Being, which in most of the cases remained un attained in spite of all efforts. The yogi’s condition is just like the infant baby “Bala-Vat” with no awareness of his own condition. This type of advanced yoga condition of Tam was found in Yogi Hanuman, the Monkey-God, as described in epic Ramayana, by Poet Valmiki. The Yogi in the state of ‘Tam’ needs to be reminded to recognize his state of Tam, by others through the application of ‘Sat’. The spiritual state of tam is beyond the shining state of sat; in it neither shining “prakasha” nor dullness is there. It is beyond both dualities of mind. Consciousness remains stand-still; the positive and negative currents of mind-psych cancel each other, emerging neutral disposition in empirical field. In such cases, the micro-impressions (sanskaras) on the causal body are exhausted; mind becomes placid of non-emerging thoughts, reflecting the Base formed by Soul or Atman. Nirvikalpa Samadhi is also a yogic attainment, but it will not solve the problem. The real state of Samadhi is that in which we remain attached to Reality, pure and simple every moment, no matter how busy one may be all the time with worldly work and duties. Realization is a state of Changeless ness. It is known as Sahaj Samadhi, one of the highest achievements, and basis of nirvana. Its merits cannot be described in words, but can be realized by one who abides in it. At a particular stage of ‘Sadhana’ i.e. practice of yoga, one may exhaust the sanskaras, and arrive at the neutral state of mind-psych. Ego as an agent of existential consciousness, becomes Zero by the process of universalization, then by application as a creational mode, it is Godly consciousness only; God Creates, Sustains and dissolves the created universe as time arrives. This is the common understanding of meaning, and role of Creator God. Gruhasthashram, that is, family life is not a hindrance for “Atma-Sakshatkara”, Soul Realization as generally thought in Indian

religious and philosophical cultural ethos; because the sanskaras are burnt away in real life situation, and the constant remembrance of Master / or God while performing the action prevents the formation of new action-reaction micro- impressions. Only thing required is one should be discontented with present limited parochial conceptual outlook, of individual personal conceptual outlook of creational life replacing with universal mode of consciousness, considering himself, as instrumental, in evolutionary paradigm. Process of cleaning uses the original power of thought as human WILL for the spiritual evolution of the individual soul, preventing slipping from the evolutionary path of realization of the subtlest essence of identity. Feeling light means losing the weight pressure of once own thoughts. Methodologically, the process of meditation does not consist in controlling the mind, or concentrating; but in gradual moulding so as to relieve its misdirected tendencies. Seekers of Truth are advised to simply relax on the seat of meditation, trying to ignore the incoming thoughts just as ‘uninvited guests’. There will be of course gurgling of thoughts in the mind initially; but they subside in due course of time. Pranahuti, the Macro-cosmic Power introduced by the Master in the heart of the practitioner slowly by this time comes to effective control of thoughts in the mind-psych; consequently the Abhyasi feels the un-known indescribable peace (Shanti), calmness, simplicity, all-inclusive tender-feeling towards all fellow-beings including fauna, other than human beings, which are the Divine-Traits, become his, as expressive Godly manifestation. Humility is the crest-jewel of the spiritual seeker. Such a Yogi identifies with fellow beings in their troubles and happiness as indicated in the following verses:

‘SarvaBhutasthaAatmanam, SarvaBhutani Cha Atmani Ekshatae yoga Yuktatma SarvathraSamaDharshinah’

Meaning: “Experiencing all Beings Reflected in the Heart of One-Self and One-Self Reflected in the Hearts of All Beings, is the result of yoga Sight of perceiving equality of One-ness” (Ref; Gita- 6-29)

The realized yogi intuitively feels as all-pervading Ether unattached with extraneous objects; space or Ether with sound, as its subtle form, is last element to be transcended, before merge in Reality, Para Brahman:

“ AmanasksyaShudhasyaKathamThasyadDwayam Mama AmanastvaaAvikaritveVidehaVyapino Mama”

अमन यशध य कथत याद य ममु ं अमन वाअिवक र वािवदह यिपनोममाे

Meaning: How can I, who is pure and beyond mind,

established in transcendental Conscience, have those two, namely, any change and modification of mind; as I am all-pervading and devoid of body-conscience ego.

(Ref: “UpadeshaSahasri –(Thousand teachings)” Chap.13-Sl.15; Pub. Ramakrishna Math- Mylapore, Madras-1970-India)

Fortunate, are those highly evolved souls who having looked at the face of their Master once were imprinted by that image for rest of their life; so much so, when they look at the mirror, they see the reflection of the face of their beloved Master smiling in the mirror. That is the purity of mind the ‘amnaska-type’ needed as pointed above quoted verses.

Action’ (KarmaPala). According to Vedic concept ‘Karma’ the fruits of action are three fold viz. (1) Prarabdha Karma (2) Sanchita Karma (3) Agami Karma.

Prarabdha karma, is that part of empirical life, which is already released on the continuum of “ Time-Space-Causation” (Desha-Kala-Paristhitulu) to live as ‘destiny’ from birth to death: while Sanchita Karmas that which is accumulated by the part of present fruits of action, saved over the time of previous and present life earnings. For example one saves 500 rupees every month out of the salary of 5000, over the period of time, say, 20 years. This is the accumulated (Sanchita-Karma) fruits of savings over a period of time. This accumulated balance of fruits of action that is available to spend when required in future is the Agami Karma. It is to be clarified that, a Yogi can remove the binding effects of only Agami Karma, the future effects, good or bad, of Karma, and accumulated balance credit known as Sanchita karma, only and never the “Prarabdha Karma” effects which is already released for Bhoga, enjoyment during this present-life period. Karma-effects are exhausted by-

Explanation: Man attached highly to body will resort to Karma. For, a man who has identified himself with his body finds it difficult to conceive of a thing without form i.e. body— According to Vedic astral-psych conception all the fourteen Astral worlds are located in the different parts of the body as detailed: Sloka:

In terms of physical and astral nature, Psychic

‘Obligations’ (Runa) are of three types Viz. (1) Ancestral lineage (Pitru-Runa), (2) Sage Obligation (Rishi-Runa), (3) God’s obligation (Deva Runa). It is obligatory on the devotee walking on spiritual path of

Self-Realization, to make all efforts within his means to discharge the said obligations in order get released from the ‘Shackles of Relational-life, called ass “Bhava-bhanda”. The first type i.e. Ancestral-Lineage Runa or Obligation, is performed on every day morning at sun-rise by offering ‘water-Oblations’ to Father ( Pitru), next to Grand Father ( Pita-Maha), and Great Grand Father ( Pra-Pitamaha). In terms of parental-worlds ( Pitru-Loka), they are designated as (a) Vasu-Loka; (b) Rudra-Loka; (c) Aditya-Loka. When a Son is born in the family, it helps to get released from the “Bandha” limited restrictions in the Astral –World of Vasu-Loka on the Jeeva, the departed Soul eking the psychic-life in Astral world Vasu-Loka, and is Sent by the divine custodians at Vasu-Loka to higher more refined subtler conscious existential life to next psychic world called as Rudra Loka to enjoy refined spiritual divine life-stay. Again when a Grand Son is born in the family it again results in psychic

promotional life to highest astral world of the deity of Sun-god “ Aditya-Loka”, where the Soul re-discovers its immortal existence of conscious-life, which is equalling to nature of Self- Divinity. Because of all these stated consequences to the Soul’s Astral Conscious Evolutionary journey, by the Son, in the Family, Hindu Vedic Mythology of Trans-Migration gives high importance to the birth of a Male Son in the family who is the custodian of family-lineage heredity-potential in his germ-plasma.

(2) Next the Sage Obligation; this Ceremony is performed siting in natural position facing “North” Keeping his “Divine –thread” hanging as garland on the neck”; in Rushi-Runa”, the Society, and the family, receives Socio-cultural, empirical day to day, life, laced with religious obligatory responsibilities, induction by and through the Rishi who acts as Family guru. So the individual and other members in the family are expected to serve the Guru-Rishi, with devotion during his life time; and also to offer Daily, Water oblations laced with appropriate Vedic Mantras, in the morning after the Sunrise. By doing so, the individual is freed from the binding effect of the Socio-religious services received from GURU.

(3) The last is the God’s or deity’s Obligation, ‘Deva-Runa’ owed by the individual Self in the Transmigration conceptual Theory. This ceremony is performed by sitting facing East; the auspicious divine thread called “Yegnopaveeta” hanging under the right side hand, prays the deities from Brahman the creative principle “BrahmadayoYae Deva” down to all devatas, all their spouses, sons, residing in the astral worlds of “Bhoo, Bhuvar, Suvarna Lokas” or Astral worlds.

So long, one is body-conscious, feeling that ‘he / she, is

Mr. or Mrs. ‘So and So’ physically, but, more so intuitively, as he/she as individual-self born to some body, the bondage with the Physical-body ( Sthoola Sareera), the Astral-body ( Sukshma Sareera), and Causal-Body ( Karana Sareera), continues to move by transmigration between the physical and Astral worlds.

The only way to break the vicious cycle of transmigration is to realize intuitively, by empirical means and methods of Yoga Meditation, that he is the Soul – Atman, the Fundamental Consciousness-Principle which is never born so, never dies; Eternal Existence-Consciousness-Bliss, The Sat-Chit-Ananda, forming The Very – Base of Creational Process.

Special Feature Column Letter from Mahatma Sri BabujiMaharaj Dated: 25-3-1957 To Late, Sri N. Kumaraswamy (Senior associate of Sri BabujiMaharaj, And Preceptor) My dear brother,

I am over joyed to see your spiritual report. The world is hankering after peace and you have got that thing in your prayer. it is most pleasing to me that you experience calmness in the bustle and disturbance. This shows that you are attached greatly to the soul. Now you say that you do not feel calmness in the morning .it may be due to the fact that you may be remaining busy during your sleep with your pious thought. The exhaustion of brain may be the cause of your undisturbed state in the morning. When I rise up from sleep in the morning I feel exhaustion in the brain. Will you please tell me whether you feel disturbed in the morning even before when you have started the training to others. May I ask you the criterion of your Anubhava and feeling power? If one feels the bliss and peace distinguishing them from different colours I think the feeling power is there in him. You feel the spiritual intoxication and also that you nearer to self. What else do you want? What you feel for yourself is hard upon others to feel. A kind of peaceful vibration similar to that of real one is created in the heart and the body which according to the nature of of vibration we take it to be repetition of OM. This is also for

my sister to understand. I do not feel Ajepa in my body unless I am fully attentive to it. You have a paper left by IshwarSahai with the methods of meditation on A & B. With many other things beneficial to the taught. I think you understand all these things and you must be doing it quite all right. What I have given in the “Efficacy of Raj Yoga” is coming to your experience but the remains much to be learnt for which you must wait for the super conscious state of the brain and that is my work. My service is at disposal of you all. I am very technical to you that you have taken a part of my duty to help the others spiritually. In other words you have relieved me a little. May God give you its reward? The people say that ‘Hatayoga’ requires the powerful brain but I say in Raja-yoga it is essential part. So we must have good diet. The almonds preparation will do you good. I take it daily. If I neglect it for some time I feel headache. You are perfectly right in saying that sister should be allowed to train the females only when you get the number. The number must increase, and it is you who will do it. You have very good helper i.e. Sri Radhakrishnaiah. The questions you have answered rightly and you deserve praise for it. Really speaking we are nothing. It is the Master’s power that works through you and myself. I have sent several letters to Mr. Raja Gopal by his Madras address but did not get its reply. I am afraid whether they have reached him. When you write a letter to him please remind me saying that I am doing his spiritual service and will give him sufficient time when I visit next time. May my services be fruitful to him. Mr. Rama Sami must also sit before the rising sun exposing his affected part to the sun. if doctor says that the saline breeze is injurious he should avoid going to the beach but before stopping it he must observe whether it proved beneficial to him. I have written a letter to Mr. Radha Krishniah. Please give it to him. God is great. You will get rather I will get a good match for the daughter. Dr. K.C. Vardachari is now all right. He was thankful to you, as he mentioned in his letter, as your enquiry to his health.

Follow and Practice, what Rev. BabujiMaharaj suggested Don’t follow or Practice what He was doing or told somebody Part 53 S.C.Kishore and Sharad Chandra (Edited Version Swamiji) 20th May 2013

It is an old saying that do as your master asks you to do, and not what you see him doing. I vividly remember that He always used to ask everyone to practice His SahajMarg System regularly as suggested by Him to all, and the rest all required will be taken care by the Power. I also observed that most of the time we started following what He suggested to others or what He Himself was doing and neglected His general suggestions. What He suggested to someone was that person’s specific and would not work for anyone else and the general suggestions were applicable to all. Wrong following has finally resulted in waste of time; Most painful is that we blame Him and His system for not helping to achieve the desired objective.

Example: He told it was good if marriages were performed amongst persons regularly practicing SahajMarg System, this will help in developing good understanding between husband and wife. People started following it without observing if the persons concerned were regularly practicing the system or not or were just members with the object of getting married as per their choice due to free mixing. Most of the time it is observed such marriages have ended into problems. Follow and practice what He suggested. That is, practice His founded SahajMargSystem as prescribed by Him and accept the changes as positive reaction in whatever it may be. satsang in Fiji which I have revealed in the report in brief. Please comment on my experience. Photos were sent earlier. Thine Own Self. Govinda Sami Liverpool Ashram Report on our Fiji visit.

On Friday 19th April 2013, Srimati Saroj Sami and Sri Govinda Sami of the Institute of Universal Self-consciousness Movement (IUSCM), Liverpool Ashram travelled to Nadi, Fiji. The purpose of the visit was twofold:

• to represent ParamPujyaSwamiji, the International President of IUSCM and Ashram Mata from Hyderabad India, to present the 2013 IUSCM Merit Award to Preceptor Rajesh Kumar of Nadi Fiji.

• To meet as many preceptors and abhyasis in Nadi and surrounding areas and establish centres in villages.

On arrival we were driven to Tanoa International Hotel and

were greeted at the hotel by Ashneel Chand, an abhyasi and the Operations Manager of Tanoa Hotel. In the evening we met preceptors and abhyasis from Navo and Nawaka at a satsang at Radisson Hotel, Nadi. On Saturday we met preceptors Vinal Kumar and Sachin Pillay who are the secretary and treasurer respectively of IUSCM, Nadi. Vinal is a Building Contractor and Sachin is an Accountant in Nadi. The day concluded with a number of individuals and group sittings. In the evening we met Preceptor Rajesh Kumar, the Nadi Branch President of the Institute of Universal Self Consciousness Movement (IUSCM) together with other abhyasis. We also met Preceptor and Srimati Jyotika Lata Kumar who was initiated into IUSCM in 2008 while she was attending the University of South Pacific. Preceptor Rajesh Kumar briefed us on the Merit Award function on Sunday and the activities of other centres at Nawaka, Navo and Lavusa. He also mentioned about the progress made in establishing IUSCM centres in the City of Lautoka and Ba.

On Sunday 21st April 2013, the program started at 10.00am with kirtans based on yoga and spirituality by Avinesh Kumar, who we were told, is the best kirtan and bhajan singer in Fiji. Seventy preceptors, abyasis and others enjoyed his songs. Avinesh with his melodious voice entertained the gathering and got everyone involved. His songs portrayed deep spiritual meaning thus creating an ideal atmosphere for the programs to follow. At 10.30 am Preceptor Rajesh Kumar welcomed the preceptors, abhyasis and invited guests. He extended a very warm welcome to Sri Govinda Sami and Srimati Saroj Sami and thanked them for their presence in Nadi Fiji. Preceptor Kumar invited Sri Govinda Sami to address the gathering. Sri Sami spoke about the Institute of Universal Self Consciousness Movement and mentioned that “Swamiji” is the founder President of IUSCM and Swamiji has asked me to convey his love and blessings to all. Preceptor Sami spoke about the Guru Parampara and stressed the importance of forging a genuine and honest relationship with the Master. Preceptor Sami spoke briefly about SamarthaAdiSadguruLalajiMaharaj of Fathegarh, India and SamarthaSadguruRamchandrajiMaharaj of Sahajahanpur, India.

While addressing the gathering, Preceptor Sami stopped for a moment, the crowd was in complete silence. After a lapse of about 30 seconds Sri Govinda Sami regained his composure and declared that “Swamiji” as of today will be known as “SamarthaSadguruSatyanarayanaChillapa” in the Oceania Pacific Region and in other parts of the world. When questioned later by Srimati Sami, the accompanying devotee from Sydney about the period of complete silence and the declaration. Shri Govinda Sami explained that his mind was blank for a few seconds and experienced a ‘thought transference’ from a source unknown to him which led him to make the declaration. Swamiji might like to address this issue later.

Sri Govinda Sami spoke about Raja Yoga and added that it is a simple and natural path of spiritual training with the ultimate goal of being oneness with God or Self. He explained the term meditation, how it’s practiced and its benefits. He further added

Page 15: INSTITUTE OF UNIVERSAL SELF CONSCIOUSNESS MOVEMENT News Bulletin - 2013_06 - Web.pdf · ‘Sadhana’ i.e. practice of yoga, one may exhaust the sanskaras, and arrive at the neutral

that IUSCM meditation can be practiced by anyone as it does not belong to anyone particular group, race or religion and the process involves • Daily practice (30 minutes - (preferably before sunrise) • Evening Cleansing • Night time Prayer.

All present joined in the practice for thirty minutes. After the meditation session there was a 15 minute break. Avinesh Kumar and his group entertained the gathering during the break.

Presentation of Merit Award to Preceptor Rajesh Kumar by Param Pujya Samartha Sadguru Satyanarayana Chillapa’s representative Sri Govinda Sami – President, Institute of Universal Self-consciousness Movement, Oceania/Pacific Region, assisted by Srimati Saroj Sami of Liverpool Ashram Sydney Australia. Sri Govinda Sami spoke about the IUSCM Merit Award and highlighted the reasons for selecting Preceptor Rajesh Kumar for the award. On behalf of Swamiji, Sri Govinda Sami congratulated Preceptor Rajesh Kumar for being the first one to receive such an award in Fiji. Sri Sami added that it is a prestigious award which Preceptor Kumar accomplished it in such a short time. It was a double whammy for Preceptor Kumar as he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commerce and Accounting on Friday prior to this function. Increasing the No. IUSCM, Yoga Meditation Centres in different parts of Globe, including far-off Fiji Country, is an attempt to Universalize the Self Consciousness, the Manifested-mode of Reality, Para-Brahman, leading to immortality through divinization of Man-Kind. When the Seeker of Reality discovers his true-nature of personality, ''The un-Changing, Immutable Base'', (Kutastha-Achaladhruvam) due to which, despite, &amidst, of all changes, in him, & and about all-around, that One perceives, from time of birth, till to date, the intuitive internal-self feeling '' I am the Same-despites the changes'', is the Immortal-Self, (Soul-Atman) that what we are; & not the, recoded physical & mental changes. This discovery is the New life, a Re-Birth (''Puner-Jenma'') made possible through Yoga Meditation, of IUSCM.

Sri. Govinda Sami is to be complimented for rendering this kind of service, making, men & women, constituting the Humanity, realize their Immortality. There could be no-better Service than this ''Na AnyahPanthaAyanaya-Vidyate'' With Master's Blessings, Swamiji

Meditation / Spiritual Diaries From: Swamiji Dear Sri Mac Maderski, Ashirwad The diary note, dated 10th. May-2013 is received.

• Feeling of rage towards humanity, as recorded on 5-4-2013, is due to suppressed previous sanskaras coming to

Page 19: INSTITUTE OF UNIVERSAL SELF CONSCIOUSNESS MOVEMENT News Bulletin - 2013_06 - Web.pdf · ‘Sadhana’ i.e. practice of yoga, one may exhaust the sanskaras, and arrive at the neutral

the conscious mind, from sub-conscious, memory, due to meditation effect. It is good, sooner or later, that the stored poison is thrown out by churning of consciousness.

• Your mind-psych has learnt by yoga to carry on in a balanced neutral state of conscience, despite the release and activation of negative-energy creating micro-impression. It is due to the effect of successful Yoga meditation as noted in the following verses:

“ YogasthahaKuruKarmanniSangamThyaktvaDhananjeya SidhyaAsidhyooSamo-BhutvaSamatvam Yoga-Uchyate”

“योग थाहक कमि नस ग य वाधन जयु ं े िस यअिस यसमोू -भ वासम वयोग ू ं – उ यते

Meaning: He! Dhnanjeya, equanimity or balance is called

asyoga. With this “Yoga of Balance”, do actions considering gained/ loss as equal-energies of positive and negative that leads to detachment by self-cancellation, to duality of gain and loss effect erasing out the mental worries”( Ref: Gita, 2-52 ).

• Observing light and ringing sounds in meditation is due to release of Kundalini-Power, vibrations, and consequent development of concentration as meditation gets deeper and deeper.

• The experience of Swamiji meditating in your place is due to development of Layavastha in Master, i.e. absorption in Him with devotion; and the one-pointed craving to attain the goal in spiritual realization.

• The two colours viz. golden colour and blue colour indicates your love and devotion to attain the goal, and peace of Soul.

• Yogi is tested on the path of journey, so as to remove, and clean the finite, mortal, material oriented, dross of conscience. Have patience! You will be reaching the goal err-long.

From: Mac Maderski 10 May 2013 Dearest Swamiji, thank you for your last reply. I pray this email finds you and loved ones in best of spirit and health. Diary Notes; 5/4/13- Feeling of rage towards humanity, they surprised me a great deal and haunted me for a short while. Some force inside pacified them and changed them to compassion and love. 6/4/13- Every thing going wrong today as if pre planned to test my patience. All I could do was find a way around these setbacks and just carry on. No negative feelings, completely indifferent to what was happening. 8/4/13- PM meditation 11.00, deep, felt strong transmission, at that instance the light experienced became brighter. This occurred twice during meditation. 9/4/13- AM meditation, observing light, it is seen often now. 10/4/13- Noticed high pitched ringing in ears, during and after meditation. One time it had a deeper pitch like droning and was almost inaudible. 14/4/13- 8.15 vibrations on right side of chest, roughly across from point B. Bright flash of light experienced fifteen minutes later. 16/4/13- 7.00pm meditation, experienced .Swamiji meditating in my place. That intuitive feeling changed to light which was enveloping me, it was shining out of the heart region. 17/4/13- 7.00pm meditation, two point felt on upper chest, right and left 19/4/13- am meditation, two colours observed, gold on left and violet on right. Gold colour was seen to be pushing violet out. 2/5/13- 8.45 pm meditation, absorbed in self, felt a line extending from bottom of sternum to just below the left clavicle. 9/5/13- pm meditation, seeing faint light, feeling of nothingness but there is some force pouring out or expanding out of consciousness. With love and deepest gratitude Thine own self, Mac.

Questions and Answers Aravind Reddy, Sydney, AU. Dated, 18-5-2013 Dear Swami Ji Namaskaram, I have a few queries, Can you please guide us Q1. Do I have to sit for meditation at same place every day? A. Yes. Select a suitable place in your dwelling, without any disturbance by others; sit at the same place without changing as far as possible. 2. During the meditation if thoughts come what we have to do? A. Ignore the thoughts as UN invited guests; do not try to struggle to control the thoughts; just relax. They automatically come to be controlled after some time of practice. Controlling the thoughts by forceful means concentration. Meditation is not concentration. Concentration is the sequel of meditation; it is natural development in the process of meditation. When, you practice artificially concentration, it means, you are there as ego, in the process. Meditation is to nullify or reduce ego to zero by forgetting the ego-self. 3. Do I need meditate same time every day, if I am not a home at meditation time, what procedure abhyasi need to follow? A. Yes. Meditation is to be done on the fixed selected time. You are advised to practice ‘Time-Management’; & give a slot to meditation in the available scheduled time. Follow that given time normally. In extraordinary situations, you may slip the allotted time-slot, & then sit for meditation at available time. Day to day life is normally scheduled with activities. 4. What is the best time to perform meditation? A. The ideal time to sit for meditation is Dawn & Dusk i.e. before sun rise and at sun-set. But as already explained, what ever time

and place given to meditation should be adhered, as far as possible. 5. Who can perform the meditation e.g. Age group A. All adults of age above 18years can share meditation by proper training under the guidance of Preceptor. Yours

Quotable Quotes (References quoted are duly acknowledged) (1) By Audi Guru SrlLalajiMaharaj

“People have lost courage to such a great extent, that they have no strength. Man has become a pray to worldly involvements. Taking these into consideration, the saints took pity on man, and have founded such ways and means, as may help in spending less time and achieving more. People in the past , starting from the lower points, reached the abode of God (Mukam Jabrut), that is, station or stage and have finally ended their journey there. But now a great reform has been made, that we start from the abode of God, and end where there is the desired ultimate end of ours. Our beginning is the end of everything, which annihilates all our desires, and ultimate end is only the reflected beauty of our longings. But my dear brothers note that whatever method you adopt, you start from the point of your own liking, and leave the points that you do not like to through. Leave them for some other time, to know its reality. Now you would, more or less, have meaning of item No.10. Now you should come to decision, and write down whatever you deem proper. If you adopt and follow the maxim in the way you have been told, and prefer to give it a name of your own choice, you would be experiencing your freedom.” (Ref: THE COMPLETE WEORKS OF RAM CHANDRA (Sri LalajiMaharaj), Vol. 2, P. 171. (2) By Samartha Sad Guru Sri RAM CHANDRA( Sri BabujiMaharaj);

“During meditation, if you entertain the idea that not you

but your master himself is meditating on his own form, it shell bring about excellent results. The process, if earnestly followed, will constantly keep the Master’s form in your vision and you will feel his presence within and all about. Though, in fact, the real Master is not merely his own outward physical form, but his inner self, still it is almost impossible to ignore the form altogether. But those who stick to the idea of the physical form alone as the Master create for themselves the grossest entanglements and complications. Kabirdas has rightly termed such persons as guru pashu. But if the Master is a great divine soul who has secured his merger in absolute Reality, meditation on his form is, by far, of greatest advantage to the disciples. His body, though gross in outward appearance is really as fine and subtle in character as his inner self. If you meditate on the form of such a Master, you not only begin to lose your own grossness but also begin to imbibe within you the finest condition of his inner self. The form taken up in view will after sometime disappear from the sight and you will gradually embark on the plane of pure Reality. I have discussed in my book’ ’Commentary on the Ten Maxims of SahajMarg”, how the form disappears from view when you look at a thing constantly for some time. Thus automatically from the outward form, we travel inwards and then to the real point, where everything disappears.” (Ref: COMPLETE WORKS OF RAM CHANDRA (SriBabujiMaharaj) Vol.1: P.84, Pub. SRCM) (3) Letter from Saint Kasturiji: Vol.4,AnanthYatra,P. 54 Lakhimpur Dated; 30-01-1956 “Respected sriBabuji, SadarPranam.

Hope you would have received my and Kesar’s letter. We all are well here and hope the same for you. I am now writing my spiritual condition whatever it is by the grace of the Master.

My condition is quite empty and I have no words to describe it correctly. The word ‘Solitary’ or lonely do not convey the appropriate condition. It seems as if all the particles have been thrown away by somebody after squeezing out the fragrance of the name of God from them. In other words if all the air may be extracted or drawn out from my place mechanically what can be said of it then? I used to call it silence but it is also not there worth the name. The condition now is such that there is no trace of ‘Love’ left now. From where and how may I bring it now to enable me to love my ‘Babuji’? One day I was writing something in my Pooja room in the evening, it seems that a power (most probably)I guess that it was Vishnu) of light dark color came before me and said to me, “ Ask for something”. I said “ I do not want anything. I have achieved everything”. That power again insisted upon me to ask for something. At this I asked whether it had seen my ‘Babuji’. It remained silent. Thereafter I said that I wanted to absorb completely in the thought of SriBabuji. Soon after It disappeared. My condition is such that the word ’light’ cannot even touch it. I call it only empty condition. It is as it is which cannot be described in words. My condition now is such that there is all darkness within and outside me. All the particles have adopted the form of darkness and a particular sort of blankness is pervading and outside me. When I see myself I find this blankness has spread over all the particles and in all the veins. Often the condition remains blank, but when I my inner, I feel that darkness or blankness is there. But I feel that vibrations are coming out of my body. It is really strange. Previously I used to feel that an infinite power used to attract me towards itself. Even when I used to become lazy due to my sickness, I used to feel the same as described above. But now I see that nothing happens like that. I feel as if somebody has stopped me by crossing the doors onward. I now move onward in a state of awake ness and forgetfulness. Amma conveys her blessings to you and Kaser her pranam. Yours most humble daughter, Kasturi (4) Dr. K.C. Vardhachari

SRI RAMANUJA’s THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE: BRAHMAN THE HIGHEST UNITY

“The highest unity is thus realized in the Supreme Person, or Individuality, through which everything lives and moves and grows. The finite existences have undoubtedly a reality of their own, not as pure parts, ‘amshas’ in the materialistic and fragmentary sense, but in the sense of being related as bodies of the Supreme. This conception entails the view of direct relationship with the Supreme Person. It means that the world consists of souls which are individually bodies of the Supreme, in the sense that they are sustained, and supported, governed and led to the fullest experience of Himself, through Himself. This view is not to be confused with the view of Hegel that “ultimate reality is not a mere system, made up of parts, but an all including individual, constituting its members” and in which “the individual has an existence fundamental logically prior, to that of the parts or of the members. It is not separate from them, but it is distinguishable from them. It is fundamental to the parts, though they are real, are not absolutely essential to it; it expresses itself in the parts instead being made up them”. There is so much in the system of Hegel when realistically and pluralistically viewed that makes his thought fall in to line with the religio – mystical philosophy of Monotheism, but then there is not that galvanization of the System by Spirit which could make it real. The system of Ramanuja because of its fundamental loyalty to the truth of religious and mystical consciousness affirms the Unique Personality of the Divine Lord, who is logically and metaphysically the true abode of all things, whilst He Himself is neither composed nor made up of or constituted by the parts, or bodies or partial realities. The Souls are not partial realities, they are wholly real. They are however, are not those which live independently. But if this be considered to be the mark of reality then we can say that One Supreme existence of Brahman can safely be called the Real. But it is not so. The ordinary meaning that we grant to the word real cannot be denuded of its meaning. What can be done is that these reals can be shown to depend upon a higher real. Thus we are enabled to call the souls as

Page 26: INSTITUTE OF UNIVERSAL SELF CONSCIOUSNESS MOVEMENT News Bulletin - 2013_06 - Web.pdf · ‘Sadhana’ i.e. practice of yoga, one may exhaust the sanskaras, and arrive at the neutral

“satya, truth, and Supreme Self as satyasyasatya, truth of the true. Thus whilst dependence-relation may make a thing incomprehensible except through that on which it depends, and so on till we reach that which is Truth that is independent of everything but on which all other truths depend. Ramanuja’s protest against idealism is not against the claim that all things are dependent on One Infinite Spirit, whatever be the material or spiritual character of these dependents, but only against the view that reality claims degrees. Once this claim is admitted, then it logically follows that Spirit is the only really Real, whereas the lowest term, namely ,matter which is absolutely dependent on it, and the souls also , become absolutely false or illusory or appearances, and between these two extremes we shall have to admit that there are any number of degrees of reality.” (Ref:SRI RAMANUJA’s THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE, A Study: Pub.TirumalaTirupatiDevasthanams,Press,Tirupati, India-1956)

accepting, speaking, and walking, the noble minded one, free from all attachments and aversions, is indeed liberated.” Explanation: The Man-of Perfection liberated from the snares of life, does not run away from this world, but he has to continue living in this very same world of ours so long as his physical body exists. He responds to the external stimuli, with all the instruments of action and perception, exactly like any other man in the world. The uniqueness of Man-of Perfection is not in the complete cessation of all his activities in the world outside, but in the quality of his heart wherein there will not be even a trace of attachment! Since he has no “Vasanas” of his own, he is no more

(8) Book of Knowledge Divine: “The SahajMarg yogic method runs closely to the yogic

process advocated by Lord Krishna in Geeta. The basic assumptions in SahajMarg system of yogic process is that individual has lost his capacity to control the mind. He needs the help and assistance from the person –the Guru who has transcended his mind and established in the Ultimate Reality (Brahmanishta). Such a divine person can alone help others in controlling the thoughts –purify them and direct them towards the reach of Ultimate Reality. Divine personality (Guru) does this job by infusing divine force or energy (Pranahuti) into the heart of the ‘Abhyasi’. This divine force (Vibrations) acts at the Karana Shareer (Causal body) and removes the Sanskaras (Impressions) from the causal body. Gradually, the results of this yogic process are seen, affecting the outward behaviour of the Abhyasi. Though the Abhyasi may not be aware of the full impact of this yogic process in the beginning, but before long he perceives subtle changes into his entire personality in other words, the entire system is based on bringing about radical changes in the personality coverings or layers of the Abhyasi.

This process is advocated by Lord Krishna in the shape of ‘Prapathi Yoga’. Like a mother the Abhyasi’s spiritual birth and growth is conceived in the mental womb of the Teacher or Guru. The Master (Guru) nourishes His spiritual child with Pranahuti till he passes all the stages on the spiritual path and reaches the Ultimate Reality. So, once the Abhyasi comes to the Master’s feet and entrust himself to the spiritual care and nourishment of the Master, his responsibility is over. Now it is Master’s responsibility to see the Abhyasi reaches the goal.” (Ref:Book of Knowledge Divine- Pub.IUSCM.2001, India)
