Installing Salesforce for Outlook You must follow these steps first:

1. You must have the rights/privileges to install this on your computer (if unsure, check with your IT department)

2. Close Outlook 3. Log into Salesforce

In Salesforce, click on your name -- Setup

Click Desktop Administration on the left, then Salesforce for Outlook, then View My Configuration

On the Salesforce for Outlook Configuration screen, you can review (and in some cases change) the Outlook configuration that is assigned to your user. If you can change any of the settings, do so now and click Save to save your settings.

*These settings define whether/how Contacts, Events, and Tasks sync. Additionally, you can set your ability to add emails to Salesforce, use the Side Panel or Create Cases from your email After reviewing/changing, click on the Salesforce for Outlook link on the left to return to the prior page

Click Download… to download the installer for Outlook

Run the .exe file that is downloaded to install. Select your language and click OK

Click Next

Accept the User License agreement and click Next

Set where the files should be installed and click Next

Click Install

When finished, click Finish. Also I recommend opening Outlook at this time

Salesforce for Outlook will start and run in your system tray

Right-mouse click on the Salesforce for Outlook and select Settings

*You can see if you need to review your Salesforce Outlook Configuration, you can do so right from the Salesforce.com menu. We reviewed this earlier so it isn’t necessary at this time. Provide your user ID and password. I recommend clicking the box to Remember User Name. Click Login

Click Allow

Your Configuration will drive this screen. If this is not the settings you want, you will need to click the configuration link to change items on this screen. You can also change which Contact, Calendar, or Task folders are used in your Outlook for synchronization. Click Next

You can define what private items to sync, then click Save
