Installing HLA Fusion™ Research 2.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3) The HLA Fusion Research 2.0 SP3 service pack is only for users who have already installed the HLA Fusion Research 2.0, HLA Fusion Research 2.0 SP1, or the HLA Fusion Research 2.0 SP2 version of the software. 3. Make sure that all users log off and close HLA Fusion RESEARCH 2.0 (SP1/SP2) before attempting the installation of the service pack.

4. The service pack (SP3) should be installed on each workstation, and you must have administrator privileges on each workstation to install it.

5. After installation is complete, you must update your database using one of the following methods. Otherwise, the software will give you a warning message.

• Use Select/Connect to Fusion Database function in Database Utility 2.0 (Research) to upgrade your Fusion databases to SP3 version.

OR • Use Upgrade prior versions of HLA Fusion database to 2.0-SP3 function in

Database Utility to upgrade your Fusion database to SP3 version.

Installation Steps for Service Pack 3:

1. Using your Internet browser, navigate to the following link: http://download.onelambda.com/pub/tray_info/Windows/HLA_Fusion_Catalogs/Document/

2. Save one of the following files to your computer, depending on your system requirements:

• HLA Fusion 2.0 Research SP3.zip • HLA Fusion 2.0 Research SP3.rar

3. Double-click to extract either the .zip or .rar file contents to your HLA Fusion 2.0 (SP1/SP2) computer.

4. Double click the HLA Fusion 2.0 SP3.exe icon or file name to begin the update process. This may take a few moments.

5. Please click Allow or Run to continue with the update. If your computer runs Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, you may see one of the following screens:

Once the installation preparation completes, the Welcome screen displays.

6. Click the Update> button to install the HLA Fusion RESEARCH 2.0 SP3 patch. A series of installation progress screens display as the patch is installed.

When the installation finishes, the InstallShield Wizard Completed screen displays.

7. Click the Finish button to complete the Service Pack installation.

8. Please repeat steps 1 through 7 on each workstation with HLA Fusion 2.0 or HLA Fusion

2.0 SP1/SP2 installed.

9. Now launch the Database Utility 2.0 from one of the workstations and use an administrator ID and password to login. There are two ways to upgrade your database. We recommend you use the method outlined in steps 10 and 11.

10. Use menu option Select/Connect to Fusion Database under Database Tasks as

shown below. Your current HLA Fusion 2.0 database is automatically selected.

11. Select a database (HLA Fusion 2.0 database which can include 2.0, 2.0 SP1, 2.0 SP2) and click Set to upgrade the current HLA Fusion 2.0/PS1/SP2 database to HLA Fusion 2.0 SP3 level.

The default Database Name is the current database.

12. Alternatively, you can select the task Upgrade prior versions of HLA Fusion Database to 2.0 SP3 level, select a Database to upgrade, and click Upgrade.

Verify the correct installation of the upgrade:

1. From one of the workstations where you’ve installed Service Pack 3, launch the HLA Fusion software.

2. Click HELP on the HLA Fusion main menu.

3. Select About HLA Fusion™ from the drop-down menu.

If the next screen displays SP3 after the build number, the service pack has been correctly installed. (Note: SP3 should also display after the version number on the status bar of the Home page.)
