this is a presentation guide to install Creative Commons license Add-in for MS Office 2010, the process is similar for Office 2007 and Office 2013 as well. I hope more people will be able to share their materials under CC licensesTRANSCRIPT
Installing Creative Commons license Add-in for MS Word 2010*

1. Search for Microsoft Creative Commons Add-in for the version of MS Word you are having
2. Download the Add-in file
3. Depending on the file selected you will be provided with a zip folder or ccsetup.exe file
4. Extract zip file to any local folder
5. Run setup.exe file from the extracted folder
6. You will be prompted to accept the License Agreement click on ‘I Agree’ Next
7. Select the MS office programs (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) for which you want the CC license Next
8. Select Installation Folder Next
9. Confirm Installation Next
10. Provide User Name and Initials (or leave the default as it is)
11. Notification of unverified publisher Install
12. Select any one of the three options OK
13. A new tab ‘Creative Commons’ will appear in the installed MS office programs menu
14. This tab has two sub tabs a. which shows status of document licensed/ not licensed b. locally available licenses or adding new licenses
15. INSTALLING LICENSES IN LOCAL REPOSITORY: internet connection is needed for this. Select new license from the Licenses New licenses menu
16. A pop window will appear showing 4 different types of licenses available under CC licenses. Select all one by one. Here public domain is selected.
17. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
18. Select ‘Public Domain Mark’ from Add new licenses under CC tab.
19. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
20. Select Sampling form New License under CC Tab
21. Sampling License has three sub types, install them all, one by one. Select Sampling Plus Next
22. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
23. Select Non-Commercial Sampling Plus Next
24. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.

25. Select Sampling Next
26. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
27. Select Creative Commons (this has two sub types each having 3 further types) Next
28. Select ‘Yes’ Next (3 sub types follow)
29. Select 1st sub-type ‘Yes’ Next
30. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
31. Select 2nd sub-type ‘ShareAlike’ Next
32. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
33. Select 3rd sub-type ‘No’ Next
34. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
35. Select creative Commons License from add new License pop up window select ‘No’ Next
36. This has also 3 sub types. Select ‘Yes’ Next
37. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
38. Select creative Commons License from add new License pop up window select ‘No’ Next ShareAlike Next
39. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
40. Select creative Commons License from add new License pop up window select ‘No’ Next ‘No’ Next
41. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
42. Select CC license jurisdiction. By default it is selected to be international Finish. Your license will be installed and saved in local repository which you can see under the Licenses tab.
43. If in any case you try to install a license which is already installed in local repository, a pop up will appear telling you that the license already exists on the disk
44. REMOVING A LICENSE PERMANENTLY FORM LOCAL REPOSITORY: select remove license form CC tab Licenses Remove Licenses from the Disk
45. From the pop up box select the licenses you want to remove and click Remove Licenses
46. LABLING A DOCUMENT WITH A PARTICULAR LICENSE: Open the document which is to be labeled click mouse to bring the Blinking cursor to the place you want the license to appear e.g. starting of a document/ end of a document/ header/ footer etc.
47. From CC Tab Licenses select the license you want, vola! License is there..
48. License has two parts a. graphic icon and b. machine readable link to the License terms webpage
