Box or personal drawer removalPull drawer out until it stops. Press in on lock catch spring and at the same time pull out drawer. As drawer approaches the end of case channel, tip head of drawer down and lift out.

3. Removal of case channels from pedestalRemove the retaining case channels to the left side of eachpedestal. Free and remove case channels by pulling out in direction of arrows.

2. File drawer removalWhen removing file drawers from pedestal, the cradle assembly must be removed with the drawer at the same time. Store drawer on the front face to prevent grease damage on carpet. To re-install, file drawer must be seated into cradle assembly then re-installed into pedestal. This is done to insure proper drawer alignment and ease operation. Installer should wipe any excess grease from exterior of cradle prior to re-assembly.

4. Locate cover plate covering hole in front cross brace.Remove (2) screws and cover plate from cross brace. Position template into hole.

5. Locate the center of hole thru template and mark withcenter punch. Drill a 1/4” dia. pilot hole thru template into front edge of desk top. Remove template andusing a 5/8” dia. counterbore with a 1/4” pilot shank.Drill a 5/8” dia. hole into front edge of desk top. Using ahalf round file, remove any burrs from hole. Insert bezelinto 5/8” dia. hole. You may tap lightly with a small mallet�to beat bezel into hole.

6. Assemble lock, cam, onto lock cylinder with sims screw. Insert curved ends of lock actuator rods into lock cam.With the small indentation on lock cylinder facing upward,extend actuator lock rod out above pedestal side behindthe desk top’s front brace and secure with (2) #10 x 3/4” flat head screws.

7. Assemble inner lock bar tabs into slot located at the top andbottom of pedestal. Bend locking tab out in direction of arrows thussecuring the lock bar in place. Insert hooked end of lock rod into hole on top end of lock bar. Insert other end of lock rod into lock rod retainer. Squeeze spring clip together and place onto actuator lock rod. Insert lock rod end up into spring clip. Insertthe two tabs on lock rod retainer down thru slots on pedestal topfront cross piece and bend.

7a. The lock tabs on lock bar must be at the same height as the lock catch located on side of drawers. Lock tabs may be pulled from one location and snapped into the proper location on lockbar for your drawer arrangement.

8. Remove right hand hex bolt holding pedestal to desk top. Position security bracket to pedestal and secure in placewith the same hex bolt. Insert key into lock and turn from an unlocked position. Reach up inside of pedestal withyour hand and pinch spring together in direction of arrows. Slide spring to the right as far as it will go. Turn key back to the unlocked position. The lock must move freely. IMPORTANT: THE LOCK MUST ALWAYS BE IN A LOCKED POSITION WHEN MAKING ANY LOCK LINKAGE ADJUSTMENTS.

12. Refer to dimension “X” below. This dimension is determined from the width of center drawer plus 1/4”. Positioncenter drawer support to bottom surface of desk top, and parallel to pedestal per dimension “X”. Move center drawer support back 1-1/16” from edge of desk top and scribe pencil marks as indicated with dotted lines. Removecenter drawer support.

14. Position (2) spacers and (2) bracket tie downs onto center drawer support. Make sure center drawer supportlines up with pencil marks on cross braces. Place a second shim between center drawer support and frontbrace. Drill (4) 1/8” dia. holes in top braces using the holes in bracket tie-downs and center drawer support as atemplate. Secure bracket tie-downs and center drawer support with (6) #10 screws.

15. Position center drawer runner assembly against center drawer support and secure the front with (2) #8 x 3/8” screws. While holding center drawer runner assembly firmly against the bottom of center drawer support tab use the back mounting hole as a template and drill a 1/8” dia. hole into the center drawer support. Secure back end of drawer runner assembly to center drawer support with (1) #8 x 3/8” screw.
16. Place filler flange between shims and retainer clips. Tap into place until vertical surface of filler is in line with theback of center drawer support. Secure filler to center drawer support with (2) 8 x 3/8” screws. Use the bottom slotted hole on filler as template and drill (1) 3/32” dia. hole into desk end panel. Secure filler to desk end panelwith (1) #8 x 3/8” screw.

17. Installing center drawer lockInsert flat end of center drawer lock rod into slot on lock cam.
NOTE: Follow Step 18 if your desk is 30” deep. Follow Step 18a. if your desk is 24” deep.
18. 30” deep desksInsert opposite� end of center drawer lock rod into lock rod center support. Position lock rod center support onto desk top brace. NOTE: Make sure a 1/16” clearance exists between lock rod support flange and stacking on rod. Using the four front holes on lock rod support as template, mark top brace with a pencil and center punch. Drill (4) 3/32” dia. holes into top brace. Place proper shims between lock rod support and top brace and secure with (4) #10 x 1” screws.

18a. 24” deep desksPosition support adapter onto braces located on the underside of desk top. Make sure support adapter iscentered between pedestal and center drawer support. Use the (2) holes on its vertical flange and the (2)front holes as template holes drill (4) 3/2” dia. holes into desk top braces. Secure support adapter to desk topbraces with (4) 10 x 1” screws. Position lock rod center support onto support adapter. Make sure a 1/16”clearance exists between lock rod support flange and stacking on rod. Secure lock rod support to supportadapter with (4) #10 x 1” screws.

19. Position lock rod cover over lock rod. Place finger guard flange over the lock rod cover flange and secure to underside of desk with (4) #10 screws. Insert key into lock and turn back and forth making sure sufficient clear-ance exists between lock cam and lock rod covers.
20. Position center drawer in front of desk. Align horizontal flanges on center drawer with center drawer runners. Slide horizontal flanges onto center drawer runners. Check center drawer movement and locking. If the centerdrawer binds when moving in or out, simply loosen the two attaching bolts holding the front of the pedestal to thedesk top. Move front of pedestal outward slightly thus increasing kneespace width.

21. Reinstalling case channels and files drawers into pedestalsReverse Step 3 on page of these directions and replace case channels back into pedestals. Place file drawerrunner onto cradle suspension. Slide drawer in until it stops. Raise up slightly on drawer head to allow drawerstops to pass the cradle stops. As drawer is closed the remaining distance, a slight up and down motion of thedrawer head will help the drawer seat into place.

22. Reinstall box or personal drawersPlace roller (box drawer) or glide (personal drawer) on rear of drawer runner over roller or glide on case channel. Now push inward. The lock catch will snap into place and the drawer will level out on the case channels.NOTE: Turn lock back and forth making sure all drawers lock and unlock with ease. If binding occurs, remove drawers and check linkage.
