General

Introduction

The Prins Diagnostic Software is a multipurpose software tool for the Prins AFC platform. The software allows the user to diagnose, calibrate and update the AFC. The Prins diagnostic software is a Windows-based software program. A Prins Diagnostic Tool is needed to communicate with the AFC

installation

1.) Prins website access Order a username and password for the Prins website at your distributor. Log in on the Prins website and to download/activate the software.

Click on "forgot your password" when you forgot your password you can button. A new password will be sent to your e-mail address.

2.) Activate web account When you log on the Prins website for the first time you must enter your account details. You can also change your password in this area of the website.

Attention! Make sure to enter your correct email address. This e-mail address used to communicate and send information to you.

3.) Download/install PDS from Prins

Website

Login to the Prins website with your username and password.

Select and download the required software in Dealer area - Diagnostic Software

Software license After a purchase of the website access, your Prins Importer will send a License Application Form to Prins. In this application the required software licenses will be requested. The software licenses will be activated when you are trained by the importer and when the license application is approved by Prins.

4.) Activation PDS Attention! Make sure that the laptop is connected to the internet during activating.

- Contact your importer if the licenses cannot be found or if username and password are invalid

After installation of the software, the licenses must be registered. During the first startup of the Prins Diagnostic Software you will ignore the following error message "error (35)".

Click "OK". Install the software license online. The following message will appear:

Select "Check Online"

Enter your Prins “username” and “password” and select "OK". The Prins licenses are now activated.

The activated licenses and the expiry date can be found at "Info" >> "License". Use the option "Install New License" if new licenses are released by Prins.

5) Run the Prins Diagnostic Software

The Prins Diagnostic Tool is ready to use when the software is installed and activated. The Prins Diagnostic Tool is required to communicate with the AFC.

Communication During first use of PDT the interface will be recognized and the driver will be installed automatically!

Green: “communication to AFC-2.0” and black “PDT # FTU7E4LV” Communication with PDT and AFC:

RED: “Disconnected" and black “PDT # FTU7E4LV” No communication with AFC, only communication with PDT In this example the PDT is recognized. When the communication status bar is red with the text “Disconnected", confirm that:

- The diagnostic cable between the PDT and AFC is properly connected; not damaged

- The vehicle ignition is on / engine running (+15 present); - The LPG main fuse is intact / plugged in; - The vehicle power and ground connections are correct.

RED: "communication error" and No PDT”

No communication with AFC, No communication with PDT In this case check: - If USB cable between PC and PDT is connected properly (the LED flashes PDT); - If the PDT (driver) is detected and installed.

Note: During first use of PDT the interface will be recognized and will be installed

automatically!

If the PDT is recognized and the driver is installed correctly then the drivers can be find under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" - "Prins Diagnostic Tool".

When the PDT is not recognized go to “Device Manager”.

- Prins Diagnostic Tool is identified as "other devices". - Right mouse-click on "Prins diagnostic Tool" and select "Scan for hardware

changes". - If PDT still isn’t recognized ask your system administrator!

Attention: Drivers can only be installed with administrator rights. If PDT is not recognized please contact your system administrator.

Prins Diagnostic Software update

Software update check The PDS automatically checks for new updates. Always connect the computer to the internet. Updates will automatically be displayed. After 45 days offline, a message will appear to connect to the internet. During the updates also new database files and firmware will checked and installed.

Attention! An error box will appear (error 95 “communication error!) when the check box "Connect to the Internet through a proxy server" is activated and using not a proxy server and.

Update instruction PDT for

software version R013 or lower. It will be possible to communicate with the VSI-I diagnostic software, after an update

of the PDT (to version R014). The VSI-I software version should be the latest version.

Update procedure: - Go to [Start] – [All Programs] – [Prins Autogassystemen BV] – [PDT Update Tool] and run the “PDT Update Tool” program.

- Connect the PDT to the laptop/computer. - Select “Update”

- After update, the update tool will show the new software version.

- If the “update” button is not shown, then the PDT already contains SW R014 or

higher. No update is required and possible.
