INSTALLATION
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for theradio, then write down the radio station presets.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Turn the two knobs counterclockwise, andremove the driver’s dashboard lower cover bypulling it toward you (two retaining tabs and twohooks).
4. Turn the knob clockwise and remove the driver’sdashboard under cover from the holder by pullingit toward you (one clip).

5. Pull the center lower cover toward you to releasethe one retaining tab and six clips.
9. Open the lid, and remove the accessory socketfrom the center lower cover by releasing the tworetaining tabs.

10. Remove the accessory socket protector from thecenter lower cover by releasing the two retainingtabs.

6. Unplug the vehicle 2-pin connector from theaccessory socket, and remove the center lowercover.
7. Secure the 2-pin connector (black) of thecigarette lighter harness to the cigarette lighterharness with one wire tie.

8. Connect the 12-pin male and female connectorsof the cigarette harness, then secure those12-pin connectors and ground terminal wire to thecigarette lighter harness with one wire tie.

12. Align the locating tab of the socket with the cutoutin the ring, and slide the socket of the cigarettelighter into the ring.

11. Slide the ring into the hole in the center lowercover in the direction shown.

13. Remove the bolt that secures the fuse box, andlower the fuse box.
14. Unplug the vehicle 6-pin connector from the fusebox, and plug the 6-pin connector of the cigarettelighter harness there.

15. On A/T vehicles, locate the 6-pin connector tapedto the cigarette lighter harness, and remove thedummy connector. Plug the vehicle 6-pinconnector you just unplugged from the fuse boxinto that connector.

NOTE: On M/T vehicles, there is no 6-pinconnector plugged into the fuse box.
17. Reinstall the fuse box.
18. Route the cigarette lighter harness above thesteering shaft, then secure the cigarette lighterharness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie inthe area shown.
16. If the vehicle is equipped with optional fog lights,plug the fog light harness 6-pin connector into thecigarette lighter harness.
19. Route the 2-pin connector of the cigarette lighterharness to the center lower cover opening.
20. Connect the 2-pin connectors of the cigarettelighter harness and the vehicle harness to thecigarette lighter.

21. Reinstall the center lower cover, and push thecigarette lighter into the socket.
22. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properlyand all connectors are plugged in.
24. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
25. Reset the clock and the radio station presets.
23. Reinstall all removed parts. Make sure that allretaining clips and tabs are securely fastened.
NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, thedriver’s window AUTO function is disabled.
27. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’swindow switch until the window is fully open.
28. Pull up on the driver’s window switch to close thewindow completely, then hold the switch for2 seconds.
29. Test the window AUTO function.

26. Test the operation of the cigarette lighter.

30. Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure.
• Make sure all electrical items are turned off.
• Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or Neutral) untilthe radiator fan comes on.
• Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes with thethrottle fully closed and with all electrical itemsoff.
NOTE: If the radiator fan comes on during thisstep, the time when it is operating must not beincuded in the 5 minutes.
