    Hot and cold water faucets: Mustbe within 4 feet of the bac k of thewasher and provide water pressure5-100 PSI.Laundry tub drain system: Needs a20-gallon laundry tub. Top of tubmust be at least 34 inches high andno higher than 72 inches frombottom of washer.

    Before youstart...Untape and open washer lid. Removepackages and hoses from washer.

    Check location where washerwill be installed. Properinstallation is your responsibility.Make sure you have everythingnecessary for correctinstallation.Grounded electrical outlet isrequired. See Electricalrequirements.Standpipe drain system: Needsa two-inch minimum diameterstandpipe with minimumcarry-awaycapacity of17 gallons perminute. Top ofstandpipe must 4be at least 34inches high andno higher than72 inches frombottom ofwasher.

    Now start...With washer in laundry area.

    Use new hoses and washers that camewith your washer.IMPORTANT: THIS PROCEDUR E MUST BEFOLLOWED TO ASSURE PROPERINSTALLATION.

    1 Read, then remove label thatn covers yellow shipping strap andpower supply cord. Pull to completelyremove the yellow shipping strap with 2cotterpins from the inside of the washer,The power cord is attached to theshipping strap.

    Pull firmlv to remove the other

    coupling washerInsert a flat washer into each end of theinlet hoses. Check that washers a re firmlyseated in couplings.

    Inlets are plastic.Do not strip orcrossthread.

    3 n Attach hose to bottom inletvalve opening first: then second hose totop inlet. Tighten couplings by hand.Then use pliers to make an additionaltwo-thirds turn.end of shipping strap from the back of the washer. The shipping strapplug must be completely removed fromthe washer for the self-leveling legs to bereleased.Save the shipping strap for use in Step 15.

    4 To prevent the drain hose fromn coming off or leaking, it must beinstalled per the following instructions:1. Wet the inside end of the drain hosewith tap water. DO NOT USE ANYOTHER LUBRICANT.2. Squeeze ears of clamp with pliers toopen and place clamp over theend of the drain hose.3. While holding clamp open, workend of drain hose onto drainconnector until drain hose is withinl/4 of ribbed stop.4. When the end of the drain hose iswithin l/4 of ribbed stop, positionclamp on drain hose so that thebottom of the clamp is l/4 from theend of the hose, release pliers.

    5 Open clampH and slide overhook end of drainhose to secure the rigidand corrugatedsections together.Floor Damage Slide washer onto cardboard orhardboard before moving across floor.

    Failure to do so may cause damageto floor covering.

    6 Move washer close to finaln position. Put hook end of drainhose into laundry tub or standpipe.Check for proper length of drain hoseDO NOT FORCE EXCESS LENGTHOF DRAIN HOSE DOWN THE STANDPIPE.THIS COULD CAUSE SIPHONING.

    7 ( _Before attaching water inletW hose, run water throuah bothfaucets into a bucket, This will get rid ofparticles in the water lines that m ight cloghoses. Mark which is the hot water faucet.8 Attach bottom hose (inletW marked H) to hot water faucet.Attach top hose (inlet marked C) tocold water faucet. Tighten coupling tofaucet by hand; then use pliers to makefinal two-thirds turn

    n Carefully tilt washer backwarduntil front of washer is 3-4 inches off offloor. Insert piece of wood as brace.

    13 I ITilt washer forward, raisingW back leas 1 I off of floor toadjust rear self-leveling legs. Gently lowerwasher to floor, Check levelness of thewasher by placing a carpenters level ontop of the washer, first side to side; thenfront to back.

    is not level, screw the front legs up ordown to adjust. Repeat Step 13.When washer is level, use wrenchto turn nuts on front legs up tightlyagainst washer base. If nuts arenot tight against washer base, thewasher may vibrate.

    Property DamageSecure the drain hose to the tub orstandpipe with the shipping strapremoved from the back of the washer.Failure to properly secure drain hosecould result in water damage.

    If a longer drain hose is needed, drainhose (Part No. 388423) and hoseextension kit (Part No. 285442 areavailable from authorized partsdistributors If drain hose must beshortened, use hose kit (Part No. 285442).Note: If washer is moved to adjust drain hose, thewasher m ust be leveled again. Repeat Steps 14-15.Place cardboard under the washer and carefullymove washer to avoid damaging floor covering.

    16 CHECK ELECTRICALn REQUIREMENTS. BE SURE YOUHAVE CO RRECT E LECTRICAL SUPPLY ANDRECOMMENDED GROUNDING METHOD.

    17 Check that all parts are nowinstalled. See parts list, Panel A. If there isan extra part, go back through steps tosee which step was skipped.
