Installation Guide: SAP GUI 7.50 Java for Mac iOS

Notes:

- This document is based on the Mac OS Sierra (10.13.2) operating system with Java JDK 8

- The filenames of the Java JDK and SAP GUI may differ than

those shown in the screenshots.

- The Java JDK is required. This is different than the JRE.

- The recommended browser for these downloads is Google Chrome

1) Install the Java JDK

1) Navigate to the modules tab of the FAIS Canvas site and scroll down to the SAP GUI section. Click on Java JDK Download for Mac iOS.

2) Click the white Java JDK Download for Mac iOS link at the top of the screen

3) The link will take you to a file located on Google Drive. Click the blue Download button in the middle of the screen to download the Java JDK file.

4) First, accept the license agreement, then download the Mac OS X file.

4) A warning window will pop-up notifying you that Google Drive cannot scan the file for viruses. Confirm the download by clicking Download anyway.

5) Allow the file to finish downloading. After completion, locate the file on either the bottom bar of your browser or in your computer’s Downloads folder. Open the file by double clicking the icon. The file is named jdk-8u221-macosx-x64.dmg

6) Double-click the box icon.

6) After opening the file, double click on the JDK 8 Update 221.pkg

8) Click Continue

9) Click Install

10) A warning message might appear that prompts you enter your computer username and password. Please note that this is the information you use to sign in to your Mac. Fill out the required information and click Install Software.

11) After the install is complete, click Close. If the system asks if you want to keep the installer or move it to trash, you can click Move to Trash.

2) Install SAP GUI 7.50 for Mac

1) Navigate to the modules tab of the FAIS Canvas site and scroll down to the SAP GUI section. Click on SAP GUI Download for Mac iOS.

2) Initialize the download by clicking on the red download link.

3) Allow the file to finish downloading. After completion, locate the file on either the bottom bar of your browser or in your computer’s Downloads folder. Open the file by double clicking the icon. The file name should follow the syntax of PlatinGUI750….JAR

4) If the following error message occurs, proceed to the next step. If there is no error, please skip to Step 8.

5) Open your Mac’s system settings.

6) Click on Security and Privacy.

7) Click on the Open Anyway button.

8) The SAP GUI installation wizard should appear. Click on Next.

7) Click on Next.

8) Click on Install.

9) The installation should complete successfully. Click on Close.

3) Access and Configure SAP GUI 7.50 for Mac

1) Open Finder and navigate to Applications > SAP Clients > SAPGUI 7.50. Open SAPGUI 7.50.

2) SAPGUI should open. On the top menu bar, select SAPGUI > Preferences.

3) On the section titled Log On, you will need to type in or paste the following link in the SAP UI Landscape box under Web AS.

4) Press Apply and close the Preferences window.

5) Click on the drop-down menu below SAPGUI for Java and select UW-Milwaukee UCC.

6) The SAP server list should now be populated. Double-click on the system specified by your instructor to connect.
