Spring is finally here and so is our new spring calendar. Time to put away the skis and haul out those bikes. We have a number of great courses and activities planned for you in this calendar so please take advantage of them to learn new “Skills for Life”. Our winter was a busy one and we thank everyone who came out to support us in our events. Our Family Ski Night and our
Black Jack Ski Day had the biggest turnout in years. Let’s all get up and get active as we move ourselves into those spring and summer months!

TENNIS
Learn to play tennis, or improve your skills with these two workshops
with local pro Cohen Rutherglen. Take one level, or both! Proper
runners or athletic footwear and a water bottle are necessary.
Racquets are available to borrow, but are limited, so having your own
is best.
LEVEL 1.
FAST - Fun Adult Starter Tennis (play and stay initiative) (racquets
available)
Learn to serve, rally, score, and play the net in singles and
doubles. Lessons will consist of proper demonstration of serve,
volley and ground strokes. Players are introduced to a foundation of
skills and the fundamentals of tennis for future success to promote
enjoyment and improvement.
LEVEL 2.
A more progressive approach with instruction and activity focused on
fundamental tactics: keep the ball in play, place the ball (a) to open
court (b) to opponent’s weakness, controlling height for defense and
take the net.
Players will learn about the PAS principles: path, angle and speed of
the racquet. How these elements can impact direction, depth, height,
speed and spin of the ball. This level 2 group will receive demonstra-
tion and instruction on grip, setup, impact point, hitting zone, and
recovery for serves, volleys and groundstrokes.
Location: Tadanac Tennis Courts
Dates: May 4, 5 OR May 25, 26, depending on how soon
