Vision:Digitalisation shall create a smarter public sector, which is simpler, more efficient and coherent

Action:Cross-cutting themes of reuse of data, infrastructure, citizen services, and governance

Focus:Authoritative basic data and a common public data distributor


Public basic data?

Basic data are the authoritative data about the basic objects of the public administration.

There are defined basic data in the following areas:

• Spatial information, roads and real estate

• Properties homes, buildings and addresses

• Personal identity, residence and family relationships

• Companies and their key officers

• Citizens' income, wealth and education


Geographical Names

Problem: Geonames in many different registers – some not georeferenced and several ways of spelling.

Solution: One national register on Geographical Names - authoritative basic data – INSPIRE!

First time monitoring 2011 - semi-automatic process

An application has been developed - creates a xml-file and an HTML file

-Offers students further develop open source software by public authorities
