Central Rivers AEA Summer InformationSummer Hours for Central Rivers AEA will begin Monday June 10th and end Friday August 9th Office hours will be 730 AM ndash 400 PM during this period Due to the variations in end of school year dates for school districts the last regular AEA van stops to school buildings will be determined later this spring
Summer Van Delivery Schedules will begin the week of June 10th and continue through August 7th Delivery will be on either Tuesday or Wednesday with stops at district superintendent offices
PLEASE NOTE Again this summer the AEA vans will be running our van routes every other week These are the weeks that we WILL be making our summer stops ONLY at district offices

Central Rivers Area Education Agency (AEA) is pleased to announce that Jen Sigrist currently Director of Personalized Learning and Innovation at Van Meter Schools has been selected as the agencyrsquosnextExecutiveDirectorofMediaampTechnology Sigrist will assume the role on July 1 She replaces Karl Kurt Central Rivers AEA Assistant Chief AdministratorDirector of Human Resources who stepped in as an interim director following the retirement in 2017 of Dr Gerald Schnabel
In her new position Sigrist will oversee all staff members who provide media and technology support to over 65000 students and 5000 educators throughout 18-counties of north central and northeastern Iowa
ldquoWe were very fortunate to have a number of incredible candidates for this positionrdquo said Sam Miller Central Rivers AEA chief administrator rdquoJenrsquos leadership and reputation in the state in the areas of technology integration personalized learning and competency-based education made her the right choice at the right time for our agency She brings a skill set that will lead our organization and our school districts to even greater heightsrdquo
Sigrist has served the Van Meter Schools since 2009 where she has created the vision and lead implementation of a professional learning community focused on innovation and teaching and learning She is also the lead for innovative practices for Heartland AEA where she facilitates a network of school districts who share and learn about innovative practices that support personalized competency-based education (CBE) In 2016 Sigrist also served the Iowa Department of Education as the lead facilitator of the CBE Collaborative for nine districts across the state
Sigrist earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education Masters degrees in curriculum and instruction as well as education leadership and is engaged in work toward a Specialist degree in advanced leadership

Central Rivers AEA is providing a resource to encourage your students to keep reading all summer long with ebooks available through your MackinVIA library We wish to equipteachersparentsampstudentswithaneasy to use website containing e-books and activities that will keep kids reading in the summer
Allyoungpeopleexperiencelearning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer Sitting idle for as long as three months could potentially undo the gains made throughout the year and affect how successfully a student will adjust to the coming new school year
MackinVIA is an eBook resource that contains a collection of fiction and nonfiction titles for K-12 students The collection has hundreds of titles and crosses all content areas Central Rivers AEA teachers and students have 247365 access to eBooks in MackinVIA by using their regular Iowa AEA Online building logins A MackinVIA Reader app for different devices may also be utilized for reading eBooks offline

Central Rivers AEA Summer InformationSummer Hours for Central Rivers AEA will begin Monday June 10th and end Friday August 9th Office hours will be 730 AM ndash 400 PM during this period Due to the variations in end of school year dates for school districts the last regular AEA van stops to school buildings will be determined later this spring
Summer Van Delivery Schedules will begin the week of June 10th and continue through August 7th Delivery will be on either Tuesday or Wednesday with stops at district superintendent offices
PLEASE NOTE Again this summer the AEA vans will be running our van routes every other week These are the weeks that we WILL be making our summer stops ONLY at district offices

Central Rivers Area Education Agency (AEA) is pleased to announce that Jen Sigrist currently Director of Personalized Learning and Innovation at Van Meter Schools has been selected as the agencyrsquosnextExecutiveDirectorofMediaampTechnology Sigrist will assume the role on July 1 She replaces Karl Kurt Central Rivers AEA Assistant Chief AdministratorDirector of Human Resources who stepped in as an interim director following the retirement in 2017 of Dr Gerald Schnabel
In her new position Sigrist will oversee all staff members who provide media and technology support to over 65000 students and 5000 educators throughout 18-counties of north central and northeastern Iowa
ldquoWe were very fortunate to have a number of incredible candidates for this positionrdquo said Sam Miller Central Rivers AEA chief administrator rdquoJenrsquos leadership and reputation in the state in the areas of technology integration personalized learning and competency-based education made her the right choice at the right time for our agency She brings a skill set that will lead our organization and our school districts to even greater heightsrdquo
Sigrist has served the Van Meter Schools since 2009 where she has created the vision and lead implementation of a professional learning community focused on innovation and teaching and learning She is also the lead for innovative practices for Heartland AEA where she facilitates a network of school districts who share and learn about innovative practices that support personalized competency-based education (CBE) In 2016 Sigrist also served the Iowa Department of Education as the lead facilitator of the CBE Collaborative for nine districts across the state
Sigrist earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education Masters degrees in curriculum and instruction as well as education leadership and is engaged in work toward a Specialist degree in advanced leadership

Central Rivers AEA Summer InformationSummer Hours for Central Rivers AEA will begin Monday June 10th and end Friday August 9th Office hours will be 730 AM ndash 400 PM during this period Due to the variations in end of school year dates for school districts the last regular AEA van stops to school buildings will be determined later this spring
Summer Van Delivery Schedules will begin the week of June 10th and continue through August 7th Delivery will be on either Tuesday or Wednesday with stops at district superintendent offices
PLEASE NOTE Again this summer the AEA vans will be running our van routes every other week These are the weeks that we WILL be making our summer stops ONLY at district offices

Central Rivers Area Education Agency (AEA) is pleased to announce that Jen Sigrist currently Director of Personalized Learning and Innovation at Van Meter Schools has been selected as the agencyrsquosnextExecutiveDirectorofMediaampTechnology Sigrist will assume the role on July 1 She replaces Karl Kurt Central Rivers AEA Assistant Chief AdministratorDirector of Human Resources who stepped in as an interim director following the retirement in 2017 of Dr Gerald Schnabel
In her new position Sigrist will oversee all staff members who provide media and technology support to over 65000 students and 5000 educators throughout 18-counties of north central and northeastern Iowa
ldquoWe were very fortunate to have a number of incredible candidates for this positionrdquo said Sam Miller Central Rivers AEA chief administrator rdquoJenrsquos leadership and reputation in the state in the areas of technology integration personalized learning and competency-based education made her the right choice at the right time for our agency She brings a skill set that will lead our organization and our school districts to even greater heightsrdquo
Sigrist has served the Van Meter Schools since 2009 where she has created the vision and lead implementation of a professional learning community focused on innovation and teaching and learning She is also the lead for innovative practices for Heartland AEA where she facilitates a network of school districts who share and learn about innovative practices that support personalized competency-based education (CBE) In 2016 Sigrist also served the Iowa Department of Education as the lead facilitator of the CBE Collaborative for nine districts across the state
Sigrist earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education Masters degrees in curriculum and instruction as well as education leadership and is engaged in work toward a Specialist degree in advanced leadership

Allyoungpeopleexperiencelearning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer Sitting idle for as long as three months could potentially undo the gains made throughout the year and affect how successfully a student will adjust to the coming new school year
MackinVIA is an eBook resource that contains a collection of fiction and nonfiction titles for K-12 students The collection has hundreds of titles and crosses all content areas Central Rivers AEA teachers and students have 247365 access to eBooks in MackinVIA by using their regular Iowa AEA Online building logins A MackinVIA Reader app for different devices may also be utilized for reading eBooks offline

Central Rivers AEA is providing a resource to encourage your students to keep reading all summer long with ebooks available through your MackinVIA library We wish to equipteachersparentsampstudentswithaneasy to use website containing e-books and activities that will keep kids reading in the summer
Allyoungpeopleexperiencelearning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer Sitting idle for as long as three months could potentially undo the gains made throughout the year and affect how successfully a student will adjust to the coming new school year
MackinVIA is an eBook resource that contains a collection of fiction and nonfiction titles for K-12 students The collection has hundreds of titles and crosses all content areas Central Rivers AEA teachers and students have 247365 access to eBooks in MackinVIA by using their regular Iowa AEA Online building logins A MackinVIA Reader app for different devices may also be utilized for reading eBooks offline
