Frequently Asked Questions 1) log book has to be filled out in pen before driving car on public roads. 2) Anyone can drive car as long as they fill in the log book and sign it. 3) If you are out late driving and won't make it home before midnight, pull over at 11:55pm and fill in an entry for the next day. 4) Log book needs to be signed and stamped before the end of each membership/financial year by a SMASA Club Rego Officer. 5) Membership needs to be renewed before the end of each financial year. 6) A membership renewal form needs to be submitted every year. 7) Registration Details Certificate (Blue Rego papers) are only needed to be presented when first putting a vehicle on the scheme. 8) Inspection of car is not compulsory but SMASA can ask to inspect the car before accepting application.

Car can be driven interstate as long as log book is filled in.

You have 90 days to drive your car of your registration year. Not financial year. Cars, Motorbikes, Trucks, Buses, Caravans, Trailers and tractors 30 years or older are eligible to go on the scheme.

If you have bought a eligible vehicle, get the club rego form (MR334) prior to putting vehicle in your name to avoid paying stamp duty.

SA Bushfires

As we all know Australia was basically on fire. And South Australia was not immune to this either. We had the Cudlee Creek Bushfire and the Kangaroo Island Bushfires. As part of SMASAs commitment to charities and as a club we have donated $1000 dollars to the CFS fund. As a member I am proud that we have done this and that the club continues to support our communities that are in need. I had to go to Lobethal and while I was there I took a few pics of the devastation that the hills experienced. I was in shock how many people lost houses and farms and seeing the aftermath really hit home to me. In closing I hope that any SMASA member living in a bushfire zone was safe and remember the bushfire season is not over. So please have your evacuation plans in place and stay safe.

SMASA Cruises and Pitstop SMASA Pitstops have been growing in attendances moving to different locations thru the year. Affiliated clubs can use Pitstop to start their cruises or even finish there... SMASA cruises have been good with a lot of new members coming out. The atmosphere at events have been really good with a lot of nice classics and modified cars coming out. Also the SMASA members draw has been very good since we have been giving out a lot more prizes to our members. We average around 50 to 80 members participating in the member draw winning great prizes. Such as vouchers, t shirts, buckets and other great items. Also take note that Pitstops at the moment will not be held during the winter months

Rundle Road came alive with the sound of revving motors and the screeching of tyres. Yes the Adelaide Rally had returned to South Australia. There were thousands of people and more than 250 rally cars competing and showing the crowd their stuff in the city. There was a display of about 100 cars. SMASA was asked to join the display with a few cars showing the clubs diversity .."all makes all models all welcome ". As you can see there was a great verity of vehicles to show how SMASA is a diverse club. We joined up with James from horsepower crew and put on a good static show for the crowd .

December Cruise

The SMASA Halloween Cruise was a great success as you can see by the kids faces. And also the cars that were decorated were outstanding as well. SMASA set up the SMASA van and you guessed it gave out lollies to the kids. You did not have to dress up or decorate your car just being there was good enough to enjoy the night. Stay tuned to see if the SMASA Halloween Cruise will be held again.
