The use of wide shots establishes the locations

and introduces the scene.The camerawork is smooth, which

suggeststhat the film is unhurried with no

sense ofurgency.

Editing

There are quick cuts between the shots of thecar driving and the statues, but the use of fadedtransitions suggests that the background story isslowly paced.

There is a slow seeming, single shot of the man,

which seems to drag on.

Mis-en-scene

The dark grey colours make the audience feel bleak

and remove all personal emotions from the scene.

It is set in an urban area, implying that there will

always be people around, which may be important

to the storyline.The dull inside of the prison cell echoes

the tone ofthe opening.
