UD prepreg TapesNTPT produces a family of unidirectional prepreg tapes (UD Tapes). We offer both traditional materials (100-300gsm) along with our range of thin ply materials (15-100gsm)

NTPT’s thin pre-impregnated unidirectional tapes (UD Tapes) show a better fiber wet-out than conventional prepreg material. Due to very low thickness of plies, resin flows in-between every filament during the impregnation process. Furthermore, composites made of thin plies are more homogeneous, with a very even and well controlled resin-fiber distribution.

MULTIaXIaL preFOrMs NTPT’s preforms are made according to the design provided by our customers or defined in collaboration between our engineers and our customers’ technical team.

by the low precision of manual lay up.> Preforms are accurately reproduced every time.> Draping time of performs in the mold is shorter than draping of numerous pieces

of unidirectional tape.

NTPT’s multiaxial preforms are created with the Automated Tape Laying (ATL) machine. NTPT is able to produce multiaxial preforms from any type of fibre in any direction and with any number of plies. In addition to offering conventional prepreg materials, NTPT also offers traditional and woven and prepreg products based on the same system. Please contact us for details.

KITTINg & pre-FOrMINg NTPT’s competences go even further, as we can deliver ready to use prepreg preforms that have been kitted in house. Our production team will perform the necessary kitting to simplify the life the end-user, as the products can directly be placed into the mold.

TUBesHigh Performance tubes are used in many applications: sporting goods such as golf shafts and fishing rods, automotive parts such as drive shafts, aerospace strotters, pressure pipes, and much more.

NTPT uses three techniques for the production of high performance tubes:

> Roll wrapping

> Tape winding

> Preform winding (patent pending)

NTPT’s unique preform winding method (patent pending) allows us to make tubes without any design limitations. Any regularly used composite material fibre, at any weight, at any orientation is possible to incorporate into the wall of the tubes.

eNgINeereD parTsThe machined NTPT composites have a top quality finish and a unique look with amazing shades and reflections that evoke a premium and high quality wood appearance.

Luxury watch makers, high performance sports cars and other industries where precision parts are engineered have already seized upon the opportunity and are using parts manu-factured with thin plies as part of their new designs.

NTPT produces blocks and carbon plates by stacking a large number of multiaxial prepregs. These composites laminates offer an outstanding machinability which enables the manufacturing of high precision and high complexity components.

aUTOMaTeD Tape LaYINg (aTL)NTPT’s Automated Tape Laying (ATL) technique offers users of composite materials a unique time and money saving opportunity. Build from the solid technology foundation of North’s 3DI sail making process, NTPT’s ATL’s are offered at a unique price point, allowing this automation solution to be a viable option for midsized composite manufacturers.

NTPT’s ATL technology makes it efficient to use thin prepreg plies that offer improved composite strength and unique weight saving opportunities.

The ATL can place pieces of tape in any position and process wide or narrow tapes that are combined to create a customized preform.

NTPT has developed four generations of ATL machines for composite applications. The latest state-of-the-art machine offers the following features

> Lay up in any direction (360°) at 1 degree increments> Speed – 30lm/min> Cutting gantry decoupled from laying head - productivity increase. Cutting gantry

operating in “parallel” time over the same surface as the ATL.> Ability of machine to handle tapes from 50mm to 300mm width.

NTPT’s main production facility is in Poland and is focused on the production of NTPT’s products including large volumes of unidirectional prepreg tapes, tubes, blocks, and other material.
