King Duncan was the king of Scotland was a fair- minded, kind-hearted and an ideal ruler.

Once some chieftains rebelled against his rule so the king sent two of his most skilful and trusted commanders, Macbeth and Banquo.

Macbeth and Banquo defeated their enemies and were returning through one of the wildest and loneliest regions in the country.

Macbeth and Banquo in that wildest region meet the witches.
