Berlin and Brandenburg form a region with special conditions – a wide

spread area and a concentrated population in one city – that requires

an integration based on the interdependences.

Berlin has to overpower the structurally lagging of the region by co-

operation between Science, Research and Economy and Knowledge

Transfer.

Crucial point for Innovation are several Networks with a high-capacity

and Competitive Structures.

Creating the “Global City of Knowledge” is a commitment for Berlin in

the future e.g. regional Communities of Practice are fostered by

Network Manager FAV.

“Transport and Mobility“ belongs to one of the three most important

R&D fields in BerlinBrandenburg.
