I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and every one of you. The properties have had some great successes this year and have endured some tough times. The perseverance, patience and professionalism you have displayed have not gone unnoticed. It is clear that people are reinforcing our pillars every day, especially We Are Community! This summer has brought about many perennial challenges—a different type of guest with different needs, greater turnover in rooms every day, bringing about longer days—especially for our incredibly talented and capable housekeeping staffs—and staffing challenges in all departments. As properties grapple with these problems, other properties and individuals have stepped up to help. Recently Terri Wallace, Courtyard Medford housekeeping manager; Larry Hogeland, SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites in Medford maintenance engineer; and Ana Cortes, SpringHill Suites Medford housekeeping manager; assisted with training staff and opening the Hampton Inn & Suites in Hood River. Whether working at another property, or in another department, or helping a co-worker finish cleaning his/her rooms, our associates have a greater sense of community with each other than any others I have worked with. So, very simply but very sincerely… THANK YOU! I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and every one of you.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The leadership team at Holiday Inn Express Central Point participated in the first annual Central Point “Neigh-bors Helping Neighbors” event. This community-run event focused on lending a helping hand to their neigh-bors. The staff at the Express helped Helen Gingerich to clean up her yard, moving well over 12 cubic yards of debris, allowing Helen to enjoy all the beauty her prop-erty had to offer!

• The Hood River Hampton Inn had a community clean-up, picking up trash along the downtown corridor and the marina while introducing themselves to businesses along their way. They collected more than 40 bags of trash and met their commu-nity at the same time!

• The Medford Courtyard collected $374.50 for Children’s Miracle Net-work and $54.20 in cans and bottles for area schools. They also donated discarded linen to the Wild Feline Rescue, Humane Society, and St. Vincent DePaul thrift store.

• The Springfield Holiday Inn vol-unteered with GreenHill Humane Society, pulling weeds and help-ing out with the facility. They also helped out at Bark in the Park (photos below), a dog-and-people 5k run/walk to raise money for GreenHill.

Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations on all of our associate anniversaries! Special recognition goes to:

We Have Fun!

We Appreciate Our Associates! Let Us Count the Ways!

The Medford Courtyard tie-dyed socks (left), had a fiesta lunch (below), a pancake breakfast, and their managers washed associate cars.

The TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites in Medford had several great game days including pie-in-the-face with Breanna Heigl (above left), and an ingenious homemade ski-ball game pictured with Georgia Wooten (above right).

The Springfield Courtyard had several brave associates who donned shaving cream and served as targets for Cheetos. Pictured left to right are Darren Wilson, Debbie Lloyd, Justin Gailey, and Carissa Flock.

The staff at the Holiday Inn Express Central Point had a summer camp theme all week with activities including arts and crafts, relay races, making totem poles and building a “teepee” (right).

¡GRACIAS!

Associate's Loyalty Brings Rewards

Annie Ahern, the new front desk supervisor at the Holiday Inn Express Central Point, was recognized by Elizabeth Cunningham, head of InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) Loyalty Operations, for her outstand-ing efforts in 2015. Thanks to Annie’s commitment as Loyalty Champion, she led our team to go beyond the IHG® Rewards Club standards every quarter in 2015. To help Annie and her team celebrate, she was sent 5,000 rewards points to redeem on whatever she wanted. Way to set the bar, Annie!
