The LORAL Librascope Team: Technical Writing, Graphics, Computer Setup,Word Processing/Production, Photo and Printing

Librascope's Publications Services is a complete "one stop" customer service team divided into distinct groups

proficient in their specialties, but always functionally interrelated as a team member and accustomed to working towards

a common goal with precision that has been developed over many years of successful accomplishments in the field

of technical publication. These areas of expertise can be sequestered individually, or as specific groups to accomplish

any customer request.

Technical Writing

The writing group has over 20 years experience in developing Operator and Maintenance Technical Manualsin either contractor format or in a full MIL-SPEC format. Librascope also has a long history in the development

of training courses for varied programs and customers. Course materials developed include Instructor's Guide, Student

(or Trainee) Guide, Test Items, View graphs, and Performance Tests. These course materials can be used in the

presentation of Factory Training, Formal Training, Pilot Training, and Follow-on Training. Documentation is developedusing a computer Local Area Network (LAN) with IBM compatible PC's. Once developed, data is directly accessed

through the network by Publications Services group for formatting and processing data files through desktop publishing

programs designated by customer requirements.

Graphics

All graphics are computer generated, filed, and retrieved, with time savings of well over 50% compared to

traditional board methods. All graphics are supported, from simple block diagrams, to J-size schematic's, to full

isometric, dimetric, or any three axis rotation Illustrated Parts Breakdown drawings. Complete electronic photo retouching

and custom renderings (also airbrush or water colors) and commercial color brochure and presentation art are available.

All graphics are developed on the computer using various graphics programs, the preferred programs being

AutoCAD, COREL DRAW, or Interleaf. Graphics are generated at the CRT or scanned and edited for import into

graphics packages. All diagrams reside on a LAN file server for easy access.

Word Processing/Production

Preferred word processing and final electronic document formatting is accomplished in Interleaf or WordPerfect.

Interleaf files are processed on the Sun. WordPerfect files are accomplished on the PC, Sun, or MAC. All graphics

are electronically positioned within a document directly from the LAN. Upon customer request, other desktop applicationssuch as Ventura Publisher, COREL DRAW, or AutoCad for Windows are used for final formatting.

Computer Setup

Librascope has a long history of specifying PC compatible components and software to build complete

cost effective and efficient computer publications systems. PC compatible systems can be built and maintained to

customer specifications, including software setup and diagnostics, hardware/software customization, or complete

publications systems can be designed and set up from LAN's, printers, and software file management systems, or

anything in between.

Photo Lab and PrintingLibrascope has a full service photo lab for color prints and view graphs, including in-studio and on-

location services and a full printing and reproduction service including most types of binding and finishing services

The End Product

Librascope Publications Services can provide text, graphics, and page composition files in all forms of media.

The final product can be supplied in camera ready hard copy originals (via 600 dpi laser printer), or in various electronic

formats such as .eps .. eps with tiff, -.plt, .dwg, .dxf, or IGES, for the formattir;fg into desktop programs. Electronically

formatted files can be supplied on floppy disc's, tape media such as 1/4" tape cartridge qic-80(28 track 14,700 FRPI),

or 1/4" tape cartridge qic-24, or text and graphics files can be transmitted via the modem directly to the customer.
