Monthly Meeting –Mar 2016

Looks like Easter will arrive early this year, March

27th, so get your Easter hats ready!

Last month we enjoyed Sally Kaiser-Dyer, RN from

Loma Linda International Heart Institute. I believe

she gave us some great information about women

and heart health. I took this information very seri-

ously, since heart disease runs in my family. That’s

why when my friend Eliane Van Horn with Qivana,

asked me about being tested to see what my inter-

nal age was I said yes! Much to my surprise my in-

ternal age wasn’t much different than my age. I am

excited that she will be our speaker for March. She

will share about her product, and test 2-3 of our

members. The test is very simply with results within

a few minutes. I am working on detoxing myself

with Qivana Prime and Qore Dotox.

We had our 1st meeting at the Coco’s in Redlands; it

seems like everyone was happy and enjoyed the

food. I was happy to able to see everyone, and know

that the parking lot was well lite up for your walk to

your car. I spoke with the manager and we were

able to add ice tea, and vegie burgers. Your feed-

back is very important so please let me know if you

have any suggestions.

ABWA wine tasting on Sunday March 6th at the State

St Winery was again very successful. Faith had a

wonderful lite lunch and chocolate and it looked like

everyone had a great time. Thank you Faith, we will

have another in September this year. Ticket will go

on sale in June or July, Remember this is an easy

fundraiser for our scholarships.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Scholarship applications

are due at the at the March General meeting. Our

Fashion Show is just around the corner April 30th.

We also need donations for our door prizes. Please

see Faith or Connie. These ladies are working very

hard so again we have a very profitable event, since

this money helps us fund our scholarships. This year

Dress Barn in Redlands will be doing our fashions

and we are looking for models. Please see me if you

would like to model.

Don’t forget our meeting is at

the Coco’s in Redlands, and I

will see you there.

Susie

Please RSVP no later than the

SUNDAY prior to the meeting.

Inland Empire Charter Chapter #6047

General Meeting

February 23, 2016

The February 23, 2016 meeting of the Inland Empire Charter

Chapter was called to order by President Susie Jarvis at 6:35

p.m. at Coco’s Restaurant in Redlands. The invocation and

the pledge of allegiance were recited. There were 19 mem-

bers and 4 guests present. The guests were introduced.

Minutes. The minutes of the January 26, 2016 regular meet-

ing were printed in the January newsletter. There was a cor-

rection to the location of the meeting. Mary Rosenbaum

moved the minutes be approved as corrected. Motion se-

conded and approved unanimously. Treasurer’s Report. The

Treasurer’s report was published in the February newsletter.

There were no questions so the report will be filed for audit.

Committee Reports. Ways and Means. Connie Tate has Sta-

ter Bros cards available tonight. She reported that we have

earned $504 so far this year on our Stater Bros cards. Faith

Carter-Michaelson reminded members of our Wine Tasting

on Sunday, March 6, 2015 and she has a few tickets left.

Faith Carter-Michaelson reminded members that Woman of

the Year and scholarship applications are due at the March

meeting. Fashion Show. Faith Carter-Michaelson has a few

tickets for the April 30, 2016 fashion show and needs the

money by the March meeting. The tickets are $30 each with

tables of 8. Susie Jarvis announced that she needs models.

Program. Our program was presented by Sally Kaiser-Dyer,

RN from Loma Linda International Heart Institute. She dis-

cussed heart issues as they pertain to women and how it is

different than for men. Heart and stroke disease are the #1

killer for women over age 35. She passed out a handout on

“Your Pathway to a Healthier Heart” in which she discussed

cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, warning signs

of a stroke, and cholesterol among other topics. It was a very

informative discussion.

Meeting Location. There was discussion about our meeting

location since the Old Spaghetti Factory had bumped us from

their schedule. After discussion of the food and service at

Coco’s, the members voted to stay at Coco’s in the future for

our dinner meetings.

The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2016

at Coco’s in Redlands. There will be a board meeting on Tues-

day, March 1, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Coco’s in

Redlands and anyone interested may attend.

Following the benediction given by all, the

meeting was ad-

journed at 8:15 p.m.

2012-2013 Annual Theme

2012-2013 VISION

Like a tapestry, as women and as mem-bers of ABWA, we keep coming togeth-er carrying the lessons and experience of our past as we seek to define our future together. Together we can and together we will.

INVOCATION Lord, in the quiet of this hour,

We come to Thee for wisdom and for

power,

To view Thy world through only

loved-filled eyes,

To grow in understanding, to be wise

And sure to see Thy guiding light;

and thus

To know each other as Thou knowest

us.

Amen

BENEDICTION

O Guiding Spirit, Guardian of our

days,

Be with us as we go our separate

ways.

Help us to feel those thoughts that lift

and bless,

To know a closer bond of friendliness;

To see Thy beauty always – every

day,

Translated into living – this we pray.

Amen
