Names

Hitwise- this name suggest that it is a ‘Hit’ which relates well to successful music, suggesting a successful magazine.

Poptastic- This name relates to the genre ‘Pop’ suggesting it is fantastic. I believe it is catchy and a good play on words.

Popdiva- Again this has the genre ‘Pop’ in it, highlighting that is what the magazine focuses on, immediately attracting the audience. Also the word ‘Diva’ is highly associated with pop artists.

Pop’ular- This name again reflects the ‘Pop’ genre, but also suggests that it is ‘Popular’. This play on words I believe will capture the younger audience, encouraging the to read on- It is very catchy and easy to remember.

Hit- This is a short catchy name that both relates to music and the genre pop. It also would be easy to remember, making it recognisable.

Popwise-This name also has the genre ‘Pop’ in it making it clear what genre this magazine focuses on. The wise part suggests that this magazine has a lot of knowledgeable information about ‘Pop’ music and artists, attracting a greater audience.

House colours

Pink

Baby blue

Purple

White

For my house colours I have chosen to use colours that would attract a female audience, so I choose the colours baby blue, pink and purple purely because they are the colours that are most associated with younger girls. They are all very pale, simple colours keeping the magazine simple. Although I do pan to place a almost fluorescent pink colour on part of my magazine to create a depth of interest and to make the magazine stand out. The background will remain white to keep it clean and crisp, as well as taking no attraction away from the photos and articles that are featured.

Images

One main medium shot in the middle of the page, which has a clear/ white background- Just an outline of the artist.

Clear, happy photos of the artist that will appear in the magazine, creating a fresh, clean look that would also attract the parents as well as the children of the ages between 9 and 15. These photos represent and promote the happy relaxed attitude of this magazine.

Three other smaller shots that appear at the edge of the front cover, these are medium and long shots of other artists and bands. These create interest within the magazine, reflecting it’s diversity, therefore attracting a greater audience.

Articles

Addressing the issues that the younger female audience between the age of 9 to 15 would have- For example, using an artist to address and important issue, e.g. bullying. The artist talks about her past experiences with bullying and how they have overcome this problem.

The magazine will feature a main article, the article I will address for my double page spread. This article will be an interview of a famous ‘Pop’ artist . This interview will include questions about her music and her achievements, as well as a large long shot of them.

The magazine will include Competitions and other fun activities that the readers can engage in. For example a competition to win tickets. These competitions will attract a wider audience, enabling them to feel involved.

It will also feature articles about beauty, for example fashion and make up. This will attract the younger teenage audience.
