Audience and Purpose

The audience of this magazine would be girls aged 16-18 in the Westvic sixth form at Harlow College.

The purpose of this magazine would be to inform the college students, but also involve some gossip.

Design and Layout

The headings and sub-headings of my work will be in bold to make them stand out, but the text accompanying them will be written in normal text.

Because the magazine will be aimed at girls the colours used will be more feminine such as pinks and purples.

Image

The image used will be of a girl dressed in normal everyday clothes as if she was going to college.

The girl will be aged around 16-18 to reflect the target audience. The image will cover the majority of the page and the coverlines may overlap

across the image.

Title

The fonts of the titles will all different, they will be big and bold to grab people’s attention. An in a recognisable font.

The title will be located at the top of the page, and the image might cover some of the words in the title.

Coverlines

The coverlines may overlap over certain parts of the image. There will not be too many coverlines on the front page, as I don’t want to

make it look too crowded. The coverlines could include things such as UNI information, discounts,

trips and new student essentials.

Freebies

As this magazine is aimed at girls aged 16-18, the freebie being given away must be relevant to them, the kind of things I though about including with the magazine would be something such as discounts in shops such as new look or a free makeup sample.

Competitions

The competitions advertised in the magazine must also interest its intended target audience, it could include thing such as the chance to win a free beauty kit/spa day/makeover etc.
