The Balm In Gilead is a 20+ year oldinternational organization whoseprograms are designed to preventdiseases and to improve the health status

of people of the African Diaspora byproviding support to faith institutions inareas of program design, implementationand evaluation which strengthens theircapacity to deliver programs andservices that contribute to theelimination of health disparities.

The Childrens Defense Fund is a20+ year old Washington-based

advocacy group whose programs aredesigned to help children living in

poverty; improve access to healthcare for children and pregnantwomen; decrease the number of

youths who end up in prison; anddevelop youth leaders who will

become the next generation of childadvocates.

EVERY CHILD USA FREEDOM SCHOOLS

Now in its 10th year, Childrens Defense Funds FREEDOM SCHOOL is a LITERACYPROGRAM that serves children from pre-school through 12 th grade.

Presently, Freedom Schools are serving over 9000 children in 38 states this summer (2010).

Every Child USA will expand Freedom Schools to serve over 30,000+ children in povertystricken, rural and urban centers during the summer and will provide after-schoolprogramming to over 50,000+ children during the school year.

Freedom Schools are providing over 1500 college students with jobs this summer (2010). Thiswill be significantly increased through the EVERY CHILD USA.

In Freedom School, every child must READ a book EVERY WEEK!

EVERY CHILD USA - HEALTH CIRCUS!

The Balm In Gilead will produce an EVERY CHILD USA HEALTH CIRCUSin collaboration with state and local healthdepartments and children health care providers, initially rolledout in US Southern States.

EVERY CHILD USA HEALTH CIRCUS will provide informationand preventive health screenings to children of all ages

EVERY CHILD USA HEALTH CIRCUS will work to decreasethe alarming rise in childhood diseases among children in theUS, by providing onsite health screenings for various health

issues, including dental, eye and obesity-related medicalproblems.

EVERY CHILD USA HEALTH CIRCUS will seek partnershipswith theme park companies and renown circus companies tosupport regional and local productions.

EVERY CHILDFREEDOM SCHOOLS and HEALTH CIRCUS

Will be expanded and adapted to supportchildren in Africa beginning in 2012.

Existing African governments and NGOpartners with Childrens Defense Fund and TheBalm In Gilead will be instrumental in theprogram and service expansion into Africa.
