GENERAL INFORMATION
The H/HC pump line is a standard for water service. The pumps are end suction, single stage, back pull-out construction. Maximum interchangeability has been built into the H/HC pumps. The back pull-out construc-tion and maximum interchangeability combine to pro-vide easy maintenance. In addition, the casing wear rings and shaft sleeves are easily replaced.
Twenty-four pumps give complete hydraulic coverage up to 1800 GPM and 390 ft total head. Twelve pumps are designed for 3500 RPM and twelve pumps are designed for 1750 RPM. Pump sizes range from 1" discharge to 5" discharge.
All H/HC pumps are centerline discharge, foot-mounted construction. Closed impellers are used for maximum efficiency. Shaft deflection is limited to .002" at the face of the stuffing box. Double volute casings are used where necessary to reduce radial hydraulic thrust. The stuffing box cover is rabbet fitted to the casing and the bearing frame for positive alignment. A confined gas-ket is used. The stuffing box on HC pumps is extra deep and will accommodate 5-rings of packing plus a lantern ring or a variety of mechanical seals.
The H2 motorpump is a compact close-coupled unit which has a low initial cost and can be installed in a minimum amount of space. Baseplates and couplings are not required so alignment problems are eliminated. H2 motorpumps are offered in 6" through 10" impeller diameters with a built-in mechanical seal. Packing is not available. H2 motorpumps utilize an industry standard (JM/JP) shaft extention motor which allows excellent motor availability and flexibility. H pumps in impeller diameters 12" and 15" are available with packed box or mechanical seal construction and utilize an Ingersoll-Rand proprietory motor shaft.
The HC pumps are cradle mounted and can utilize standard shaft foot mounted motors or a variety of other drivers. Cradle mounted pumps use permanently grease lubricated bearings (oil lubrication is available) and have a rugged heavy duty bearing frame. Both standard and spacer couplings are available in addition to other optional features.
APPLICATION
H/HC pumps are designed for general water service but can be used wherever Col. B & Col. C pumps are required. The 3500 RPM units with 9" impellers give hydraulic coverage previously reached only by multi stage units. Typical applications include chilled and hot water circulation, condensor water, small boiler feed ser-vice, bulk oil station transfer, process or machinery cool-ing water circulation, spray water pumps for air washers, air pollution control, large industrial washers, or paint
spray booths. All industrial areas—utilities, metal fabri-cators, plastic fabricators, paper mills, machine tool manufacturers, primary metal producers, chemical plants and commercial buildings—have requirements for cooling and heating water, or spray water for washing. Now most industries are aware of the requirements to return clean water to the environment so they need pumps to feed and circulate this water to cleaning devices. As such all of these industries have H/HC applications.
