The basic principles of a Smart AQN

• Simplicity of use

• All the components of the network must be

completely integrated in one system.

• Newest technologies in measurement, data

transmission, maintenance and data

and reliability (e.g monitors of polluting

agents certificated internationally).

Based on the principles previously indicated

and our own experience of almost 30 years

designing AQN’s, we propose systems that

integrate all the components that form a

monitoring network, from previous

engineering, supply of the analytical

instrumentation and software, commisioning,

training, maintenance, calibration and data

handling.

CECOMA

The central element of our SMART AQM is the data management suite CECOMA.

CECOMA is a client-server application for management and analysis

of data from air quality, emmisions

and meteorological monitoring networks.

This system includes.

• Data Base, local or cloud server.

• Communication drivers with the monitoring points.

• Charts and reports.

• Tools for data validation.

• Tools for maintenance management.

• Tools for calibrations and audit management.

• Expert System for maintenance help.

COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

Router 3G/LTE , short-range radios , cable routers, wimax are some of the technologies that we used in the communications between the points of measurement and data management center.

Modern monitoring instruments includes internal dataloggers and a variety of communication ports (USB, Ethernet…) and made the use of an external datalogger innecesary.

Multi-protocol communications and data adquisition.(OPC, Plant Information -PI, OLEDB, ModBus…)

All the management of the maintenances of the

monitoring instruments is done from the same

system:

• Planning of preventive maintenance.

• Management of spare parts.

• Recording of incidences /faillures.

• Scheduling and reporting of calibrations.

EXPERT SYSTEM FOR THE AID IN THE MAINTENANCES

One of the advantages of our system is the

expert system included to support maintenance

staff.

This system analyzes the internal variables of the

instruments (flows, temperatures, voltages…) ,

comparing them with a series of rules

established in the knowledge data base to get

conclusions and recommendations for the

maintenance staff.

This helps the identification of failures before they

take place that can result in data lost or data of

bad quality.

• It Reduces the times of non-availability since it

supports the technician to realize its work.

• It Reduces the costs of training of the

maintenance staff.

ALERT SYSTEMS

Every single parameter for every monitoring station can

be configured to trigger an alarm (e.g. Threshold

excedences, non authorized login in the system….).

Alarms can be sent to a series of users, individually

configured. Each user only will receive the alarms for the

monitoring stations assigned to him

The alarm can be sent by several media(SMS, twitter, e-

mail, Web,…)

Based on the OpenAir Library of the R statistical suite, the NanoEnvi®Analyst is a powerful interface designed to help the network managers perform analysis of air pollution data that can yield a much richer source of information concerning the nature of air pollution such as source identification and attribution.

Improved information concerning the sources and nature of air pollution will help lead to the development of better policies for controlling air pollution.
