*
CONTENTSTHIS IS YOUR SHOW
Thank you for joining us at inFusion ’10, Exterro’s first annual user conference!
When we began planning for inFusion last year, we, like you, saw the writing on the wall: increased regulation and sanctions for litigatory missteps, budget cuts, reports heralding the breakdown in communications between IT and legal, not to mention a collective tightening of purse strings. But we also know that today is the most exciting time EVER for the legal industry. The maelstrom of disparate processes involved in litigation today can create chaos; the “do more with less” edict can create pressure; but these can also create opportunities for people like us – after all, it’s our job to fix these problems, streamline these processes, and provide the leadership that delivers value to our organizations.
People with the ability to communicate with both IT and legal are worth their weight in gold. Sound familiar? That’s you. Who among you hasn’t had to explain a complicated IT process to a bewildered attorney, or translate legalese into a cut-and-dried work order for a collections project? Your very viability hinges on completely staying at the leading edge of developments and trends in your field.
As always, we extend a warm welcome to all our colleagues in the industry who share our passion for striving for excellence in legal process management. inFusion is your conference, let’s make it shine!
Sincerly,
Bobby BalachandranPresident & CEO, Exterro

Morning Session10:15 AMImplementing Fusion in a Multidimensional EnterpriseCascade Locks Room A
More and more enterprises are looking to insource at least part of the e-discovery function, especially records management, identification, preservation and collection of electronic files. Properly implemented discovery software can yield significant cost savings, both for IT departments and attorney time. Often, clients report that the payback period for an e-discovery investment is very short, on the order of three to six months after implementation.
Minimizing the time-to-value by shortening the timeframe for a complex integration will help enterprises reap the benefits of their investment in shorter timeframes and free up resources and reduce expenses that would otherwise be required to complete the implementation process. This session will outline how UTC and Exterro partnered closely with Exterro and its business units to provide a comprehensive, effective implementation model that worked for UTC’s unique, complex business, IT and legal environments.Nancy Mailhot, IT Project Lead, United Technologies CorporationDavid Hartmann, Director of Client Success, Exterro, Inc.Suresh Nalla, Director of Client Solutions, Exterro, Inc.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS2:30-3:45 PMChaos Theory: Bringing Order to the Litigation LifecycleJefferson Room
Litigation lifecycle management can streamline e-discovery projects and give greater control over legal processes. By fundamentally re-engineering their approach for a new age of legal strategy, rather than treating litigation as a series of one-off events, innovative companies are establishing a framework that recognize the inevitability of extended legal action.
Companies are implementing best practices and technology solutions that automate the ad-hoc approach used today by legal, IT and resource teams to deliver a streamlined, collaborative process around all e-discovery activities, from matter, issue and cost management to discovery history and business intelligence reporting. By building corporate infrastructure to support litigation management, companies are minimizing risk and imposing expense control.
To demonstrate this emerging shift in thinking, experts from inside and outside counsel will discuss the art of managing each segment of the e-discovery lifecycle from preparation, discovery and review to production and the eventual archiving of information. BREAKOUT SESSIONS2:30-3:45 PMA Data Map with a View: Meeting the 99 Day WindowWashington Room
The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure amendments have dramatically accelerated the overall litigation schedule. With more to do in less time, all parties to litigation must take a substantially more proactive stance when it comes to discovery planning and litigation triage. Litigants must be able to map the location of both paper and electronic data to meet legal requirements. It’s critical to understand the implications of these requirements and how to satisfy them in a timely and cost-effective manner. Even worse, policies and procedures for the proper handling of electronic evidence – including proof of a secure chain of custody - involve complex data collection techniques that are difficult to master. The keys to effective preparation include having a detailed data map and real time ESI indexing tools in place at the onset of litigation. This foundation greatly simplifies the effort and cost of complex litigation. In this session, speakers will discuss: • Key considerations when building a data map • A real-life case study about planning, building and using a data map • What to include in a well documented data map • Steps to building an defensible ESI data mapBruce Phillips, Chief Information Security Officer, Fidelity National FinancialCharles Skamser, CEO, E-Discovery Solutions GroupBob Rohlf, Esq., E-Discovery Strategist, Exterro, Inc.

Building a Superstructure: Tips and Tricks for Implementing
Fusion in your Enterprise Environment
Cascade Locks Room A
Cross-functional collaboration and tight project management is a critical success factors
for any enterprise software initiative. This is particularly apt for the implementation of
software affecting a business process as complex as electronic discovery. Organizations
have a lot to consider, including their existing business processes, legacy IT systems, user
acceptance, the maturity of their information management policies and systems,
compliance enforcement mechanisms and overall organizational complexity.
In this session, speakers will discuss tips and tricks for successfully implementing
Fusion software, including:
• Aligning software functionality with business needs
• Setting implementation expectations and determining performance metrics
• Setting an accurate implementation timeline
• Managing implementation resources and project hand-off
By setting realistic expectations and incorporating solid project management techniques,
organizations can realize the immediate benefits of legal process automation provided by
Fusion.

1:15-2:30 PM
Mission Control: Creating a Single Point of Management
through Integrations and Migrations
Washington Room
Most data integration tasks are complex, time consuming, and expensive.
Organizations must analyze existing data, define or refine a data structure, develop a
“crosswalk” to map data between the two, validate all new data, and locate anomalies.
While there are no silver bullets to completing data transfer projects, there are ways
to overcome these challenges. A data migration integration project will enable you
to reduce costs, increase data quality and reduce overlapping information stores.
In this session, key stakeholders and project managers will share successful ways
to manage and complete these complex projects with Fusion, and go over Fusion’s
Integration Hub functionality, as well as explore specific integration offerings,
including Recommind InSite, Symantec EV/DA and Discovery Collector, StoredIQ,
and Clearwell.

1:15-2:30 PM
IT is from Mars, Legal is from Venus: Improving
Collaboration and Communication Between Departments
Jefferson Room
Communication gaps are a persistent problem between IT and legal, and here,
“soft skills” deliver hard results. It’s no secret that IT and legal speak different
languages, but no one is doing paper-only litigation anymore, so legal and IT
working together is simply a fact of life. Clear communication goes a long way
toward getting them to work together and can effectively bridge e-discovery gaps.
Communication issues typically can be categorized into two types: organizational
and personal. Organizational roadblocks can be major structural liabilities to a
company. Legal teams often do not know who within the IT department to ask, or
they don’t ask the right question. Legal must know what systems are in the IT
landscape, what information each has, and who the subject matter expert is.
This session will cover both sides of the communication coin, offering tips and best
practices that, when applied consistently, ensure each constituent receives the
information he or she needs to perform his or her job tasks when it comes to
large-scale, often long-term e-discovery projects.
