AVAILABILITY OF CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENTS
In order to reduce the project cycle time, total mechanizationof construction activity like earthwork, blasting, concreting,fabrication, erection, assembling, piling, material lifting etc. have been
considered for assessing the requirement of construction activity.Yearly capacity addition from thermal projects is about 10000MW i.e.Rs. 45000 crores which will call for deployment of constructionequipment of Rs. 6750 crores.
The major equipment required to be deployed for simultaneous
construction of 24 projects of less than 500 MW and 21 projects ofmore than 500MW is summarized below.
