EMC Storage DevicesWe use the EMC Clariion devices for internal trainings for Delivery and Engineering teams.

The devices are used for hardware level training and advanced software and replication trainings.y H ardware level trainings consist of physical device assembly and troubleshooting, setup and

configuration.o Hardware break fix trainings which include

Disk replacements Identifying components Cabling components Identifying physical failures (e.g. loop cable failures, disk failures) SAN networking integration ISCSI networking integration Host integration (direct attached, SAN attached) Spare management and replacements

o Software trainings Initializing Clariion Setting up and discovering Clariions for management Host discovery and navi agents installation Management server setup Host integration (multiple O S and hardware) Disks Management (LU N provisioning, Mirroring, R AID protection,

Defragmentation, Meta LU N , Cache management, LU N expansions anddecommissions)

Replication technologies ( Mirrorview/ A/ S, Snapclones, Snapshots, SAN Copy)

y Software level trainings consist of management, configuration, administration, troubleshootingand replication with devices of similar make (EMC) and also cross vendor replication (e.g. HP )

The devices are also used for simulations for cross platform migrations, benchmarking andinteroperability.

These devices are also being utilized for simulations related to software upgrades (firmware/code

upgrades) prior to upgrades on actual P roduction devices which the Delivery teams support, therebyallowing delivery teams to test and certify the code upgrades.

These devices help in the development of scenarios consisting of multiple technologies (e.g. Brownbag)for the introduction of new software technologies. These simulations help in the integration of multiplevaried technologies and also help immensely in the cross platform skill upgrade of the engineers. Thesesimulations more often requires the physical access to the devices for setting up the various devices

These devices are also being utilized for simulations related to software upgrades (firmware/codeupgrades) prior to upgrades on actual P roduction devices which the Delivery teams support, thereby

allowing delivery teams to test and certify the code upgrades.

These devices are used for testing and certification of the devices for interoperability with applications, monitoring tools, reporting tools, integration with multiple applications (e.g. Exchange, SQ L, Oracle, SAP ,etc.)

These devices are used for setting up scenarios which will provide a base for automation projects. Thiswill assist in the testing and certification of the automation scripts before being rolled out to customerenvironments.

These devices help in the development of scenarios consisting of multiple technologies (e.g. Brownbag)

for the introduction of new software technologies. These simulations help in the integration of multiplevaried technologies and also help immensely in the cross platform skill upgrade of the engineers. Thesesimulations more often requires the physical access to the devices for setting up the various devicesand integration with the various components within the simulation (cabling, network setup, topologydesigning, firewalls, etc.). This helps in equipping teams for implementations and design.

SAN DevicesCisco, Brocade and McData switches

These devices are firstly the backbone to interconnect the various target devices like the storage devicesand are essential devices for running the devices infrastructure.

These devices help in the development of scenarios consisting of multiple technologies (e.g. Brownbag)for the introduction of new software technologies. These simulations help in the integration of multiplevaried technologies and also help immensely in the cross platform skill upgrade of the engineers. Thesesimulations more often requires the physical access to the devices for setting up the various devicesand integration with the various components within the simulation (cabling, network setup, topologydesigning, firewalls, etc.)
