Quick Start Guide

NovoPRO is a wireless BYOD system for interactive and collaborative meetings and classroom instruction usage.

(2) The Main Unit

(3) Hardware Installation

1) HDMI port: connected to a projector or an LCD monitor

2) DC 5V (Power): connected to the USB power adaptor using the supplied USB cable

3) Optional Connections

0. RJ45 (Ethernet): connected to your LAN

0. USB port: connected to a USB mouse or keyboard

(4) WiFi Configuration

NovoPRO is default at WiFi Hotspot mode with its name displayed at NovoPRO’s home screen, as shown on the picture on the right. In this mode, users are limited to eight and there will be no Internet access.

Alternatively, you can connect a NovoPRO to your existing WiFi network via a wireless router and/or Ethernet port. You can connect a USB mouse/keyboard to the NovoPRO and click on button “WiFi” to change WiFi settings.

(5) Getting Started

1) Install the App

· Tablets/Phones: NovoPresenter App from App Store or Play Store or:

www.vivitekusa.com/novoconnect/ (Downloads)

· ChromeBook: Desktop Streamer from Chrome Web Store

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/novoconnect

www.vivitekusa.com/novoconnect (Downloads)

· Windows/Mac: Desktop Streamer from the following Vivitek’s website

http://www.vivitekusa.com/novoconnect/

2) Connect your mobile devices to the same network as the NovoPRO

3) Launch NovoPresenter or Desktop Streamer

4) Manually input IP address or PIN code, or, scan QR code to connect. Upon a successful connection, your screen will show up automatically.

(6) Enabling and Disabling Miracast/AirPlay

There are several ways to turn on or off Android/iOS mirroring. This is designed for Moderator to have the full control of screen projection if necessary as well as ease of use for all use if no moderator.

1) Using Windows software “Desktop Streamer”

After the host user (Moderator) connects to NovoPRO, he/she will be able to bring up the “Mode Switching” panel to enable/disable Android and iOS mirroring. Shown in the figure to the right:

· “Home”: disable both Miracast and AirPlay and use App to display mobile devices

· “Android Mirroring”: enable Miracast (and at the same time disable AirPlay)

· “iOS Mirroring”: enable AirPlay (and at the same time disable Miracast)

2) Using QR code

Use a QR code scanner on your phone/tablet to scan the QR code at NovoPRO’s home screen. You will be able to bring up a webpage automatically (shown at the right). Once again, you will see the same control buttons.

3) Connecting a mouse to NovoPRO

NovoPRO has the same three control buttons on the top-left corner. Once you connect a mouse to NovoPRO, you can click on these buttons to choose one of mirroring modes.
