The FMA Informative heard about a new style which was organized in 2013. The styles name is “Power of the Brave Fighter” Arnis-Kickboxing and the Founder is Grandmaster Pepito A. Sabalberino. With all the knowledge that Grandmaster Sabalberino has obtained in his years of training, he has com-bined them to make it a reality based martial art. His principles that he teaches his students is self-control, to use the art as self-defense and physical fitness. The FMA Informative asked Grandmaster Sabalberino what the name is suppose to mean and Grand-master Sabalberino stated that is stands for what a practitioner believes in and teaches is correct. The art uses Arnis for its weapons part and Kickboxing for its empty hand part.

Grandmaster Pepito A. Sabalberino

Born in Brgy. San Jose Llorenti Eastern Samar June 3 1972. Grandmaster Sabalberino lives in Greenhills, San Juan, Met-ro Manila, Philippines. Grandmaster Sabalberino started his training in the martial art when he was 16 year of age with Sikaran martial art and then Judo Karate Federation by Guiller-mo Bernas in 1992. He also trained in Modern Arnis the same year that he was learning Aikido and Muay Thai Boxing. Grandmaster Sabalberino has also trained with Grandmaster Frank Aycocho of Aycocho Martial Arts Center, which teaches, Arnis, Karate, Silat and Kuntao.

Grandmaster Sabalberino was promoted to Grandmaster 10th dan red belt. This is when he commenced to build his own orga-nization which he calls the “Power of the Brave Fighter” Arnis-Kick-boxing. Now you may ask yourself what’s with the name Power of the Brave Fighter, which Grandmaster Sabalberino replies, “that is stands for what a practitioner believes in and teaches is correct”. The type of Arnis that Grandmaster Sabalberino teaches is Senkotiros, a Filipino martial art style that originated in Southern most part of Luzon in the Philip-pines. “Senko” means “five” in the Filipino language, and signifies the five angles of strikes in the style. And “ Tiros” means to strike or attack. Originating in the “Bicol” region on the Island of Luzon in the Philippines. The other main art that Grandmaster Sabalberino teaches is Kickboxing, specifically Mauy Thai kickboxing, a combat sport from the Muay martial arts of Thailand that uses stand-up strik-ing along with various clinching techniques. This physical and

mental discipline which includes combat on foot is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. With all the knowledge that Grandmaster Sabalberino has obtained in his years of training, he has combined them to make it a reality based martial art. His prin-ciples that he teaches his students is self-control, to use the art as self-defense and physical fitness.
