• 76% of providers that engaged a mentor were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘completely satisfied’

• 76% of providers considered CIR ‘very valuable’ or ‘extremely valuable’

• 58% of mentors were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the OCF, 8% ‘dissatisfied’ or very dissatisfied, 34% neither satisfied or dissatisfied

• Awareness – half of providers had not applied to CIR – of these 23% said they were unaware of it

• Earlier heads up of timing for rounds

─ 20% of mentors said they did not understand how CIR works

ICT - findings

Previous CIR distributions and work with Infoxchange has highlighted:

• the importance of adopting consistent and structured sector-wide approach to identifying common ICT needs, and

• the importance of supporting informed provider decision-making, in terms of meeting these needs at the organisation level

ICT - focus

Focus for CIR will be on delivery of consistent advice and guidance concerning ICT related best practice, across the sector, supported by:

• real life case studies

• sharing of practice and experience, face- to-face and online, and

• development of wide networks and connections

ICTWe will support Infoxchange to:

• develop case studies to support successful selection and implementation of ICT systems

• develop good practice guides for NGOs

• share guidance and templates via an online portal, supported by facilitation and expert advice and an online space for collaboration

• Currently funded by MSD for service delivery

• No outstanding due diligence issues (eg. unresolved approvals issues, contract delivery issues, or outstanding funding accountability reports)

• Note that information is shared with Ministry of Health, Te Puni Kokiri, and Department of Internal Affairs

Collective applications• At least one collective member must meet the eligibility

criteria and act as fund-holding applicant

• Panels will be looking for evidence of active collaboration

• Information is required about all collective members

Capability mentor criteria

• Must be on MSD qualified provider list on the website

• Do not have a formal relationship with MSD (MSD cannot release details about providers to them)

• Are not briefed or trained by MSD to prepare CIR applications

Role of capability mentors

• To assist organisations to undertake an organisational capability self-assessment and develop a capability development plan (Stream One) or a plan only (Stream Two)

• Contracted by the provider

• Timing and arrangements negotiated between provider and mentor

Capability mentor funding

• Streams One and Two is a fixed grant set at the approximate cost for a capability mentor to undertake the work

• Organisations must use a capability mentor for Stream One and Two grants

• Organisations can opt to use more than one mentor

• Organisations may choose to use a capability mentor in Stream Three

• Some mentors have identified specialist areas
